Totally agree with your sharpening philosophy when it comes to knives. Wood working is different, I’m in a shop. Out in the field when it’s cold and rainy I’ve never seen anyone bring out a $$$$ knife sharpenin jig and go to work and spend an hour sharpening, and if he did I’ll look at him like they were troubled. I have always hand sharpened my knives. The bevel isn’t perfect mirror reflection but it cuts just as good. I have wet ceramic stones and DT diamond stones. Love those diamond stones outside.

Beautiful knife. Pro tip. drill the holes with a drill then join them with the endmill. Much faster.

That style of knife inspires alot a memories, wonder if the kabar leather stacked military knifes being sporterized like the rifles inspire this style over time.

Looks great. The same German made knife is very common and easy to get for well under $100 on Ebay so I would just buy another of the same knife to use, but there's also the issue of future generations not knowing which knife was which if they were the same knife. I would say this knife you made is definitely more special than just buying a duplicate off Ebay.
