  • Wish these kinds of videos got you more views. I found it very entertaining.
  • Maybe I don't know much about knives, but this knife is gorgeous! You are GOOD!

We have knives with different grinds & edges. A sharp knife is a sharp knife, no matter what angle. As long as it cuts, it's a job well done. Cheers for the tips mate. Warm greetings from Australia.

Totally agree with your sharpening philosophy when it comes to knives. Wood working is different, I’m in a shop. Out in the field when it’s cold and rainy I’ve never seen anyone bring out a $$$$ knife sharpenin jig and go to work and spend an hour sharpening, and if he did I’ll look at him like they were troubled. I have always hand sharpened my knives. The bevel isn’t perfect mirror reflection but it cuts just as good. I have wet ceramic stones and DT diamond stones. Love those diamond stones outside.
  • Beautiful knife. Pro tip. drill the holes with a drill then join them with the endmill. Much faster.
  • That style of knife inspires alot a memories, wonder if the kabar leather stacked military knifes being sporterized like the rifles inspire this style over time.
  • True Work Of Craftmanship, Kyle. You & Yours Have A Merry Christmas. ATB T God Bless
  • The best looking knife ive seen you make Kyle, this is amazing.
  • Absolutely beautiful work Kyle… Grandpa would be honored! As always I picked up some new tricks in this video. Thanks for sharing with the maker community!!!
  • Looks great. The same German made knife is very common and easy to get for well under $100 on Ebay so I would just buy another of the same knife to use, but there's also the issue of future generations not knowing which knife was which if they were the same knife. I would say this knife you made is definitely more special than just buying a duplicate off Ebay.
  • What a great build, Kyle. I love watching the process of how you creat such a beautiful end result, starting from raw materials. You are truly gifted in your craft. It struck me that you created an heirloom to use which replaced a family heirloom. You might be asked to create another version that isn't as pretty for the family to actually use every day! Love your work.
  • I love the concept you have on sharpening the knives !! As always a love your show the NH . Great informative video as always Kyle! Take care and stay safe my friend !!
