As a guy who has owned the same Corvair since 1970 while in high school I very much enjoyed this one! Thanks for giving Clark's some well deserved recognition.
  • That Seinfeld episode about the car rental.... perfect.😂😂😂😂
  • @JxH
Once upon a time, I had a rental car Reservation that was Pre-Paid and Confirmed . We arrived. They didn't have anything. I'm pretty sure it was Hertz, so the good news is that when we finally got on the road (hours later), the vehicle wasn't reported stolen and we were not arrested at any point. Amazing.

I live in Pennsylvania and I have traveled the country for the last 35 years for work. Roads don’t straighten out until you get west of the Mississippi for the most part. In PA, the roads we have now used to be Indian trails and deer paths, usually following a creek or river.

Hey Matt, I’m 28 years old and my ex gf gave me her 62 Monza and we spent a few months rebuilding it with her grandpa before he passed. Got all the parts from Clark’s! Thank you SO much for showing this! I would’ve had butterflies too!
  • @bmwpete65s55
Very kind of you to take care of the tab for everyone at the restaurant! So cool you made it to Clarks after waiting so many years!
  • @hoophil
Thanks for taking us to Clarks. I have 3 Corvair's and still have the first one I bought (1965 Monza) in 1971. I've been buying from Clarks since the mid 70's, what a great company and great people. Couldn't ask for better people to keep the Corvair alive for us, supplying lots of parts!

I lived near Shelburne Falls for years in the 80s and 90s. Drove by Clark's countless times wondering about it. I'm glad it's still there. A minor point: Although the address for Clark's may say Shelburne Falls, I think you'd find that Clark's is actually on Route 2 in Shelburne. Shelburne Falls is actually a little village - one of those quintessential New England villages - that brings together across a river two towns, Shelburne and Buckland. I hope you and Jaymie got to see Shelburne Falls. It's magical and there really is no place like it. What fun to see inside Clark's and to see your joy the whole time you were there.
  • @BME-Productions
I've been in that EXACT SAME car rental situation so many times that it's literally stopped me from traveling - so seeing you two with smiles on your faces after dealing with that is truly remarkable. That's a near impossible task.

No joke, you can see the genuine passion and happiness Matt has for Corvairs. This was awesome!
  • @JohnFL
    Good MORRning everyone!
  • Matt went to heaven and he didn't even have to die. --- Jamie, on the other hand, had a different experience. Jamie gets the First Place award for patience and endurance. --- Thanks for the fun upload. ---

Gosh, my 1st car was 1961 Corvair Monza back in 1965. White with red interior but a 4 speed instead of auto. I was about 17 at the time. Lots of fond memories. I left it home when I went to Vietnam in 1968. Thanks for the memories Matt!
  • @marvindebot3264
The Corvair place is awesome, every car needs a guy like him to make restoration possible. Real fish and chips, in UT? That's impressive! Oh and Matt, restore your Rampside!
  • Friendly's is a chain restaurant that is on the brink of going out of business. They are NOT the restaurant to judge food from.
  • @ernestpaul2484
Matt has finally made it to his Corvair Nirvana. He is one with the world of Clark Corvair. If Matt had a 53' tractor trailer with him, he would have loaded it from the front bulk head to the rear doors with Corvair parts and headed back to Utah.
  • @chrater8192
Matt found your site couple years ago and fell in love with the content. What drew me to your site was the Morvair. My Dad was a mechanic and always fixing up and selling Corvairs and always owned one. When I was old enough to drive them I would always hot rod em and my Dad would get pissed cause I always knocked the belt off and it would fill up the cab with smoke lol. To show you how sturdy they were my Dad was going to work and sitting at a stop light and a guy that had won some kind of race that had been celebrating all nite and a little drunk ran into his corvair at sixty miles an hour. It knocked my Dad out and sent him to the hospital but the first thing my Dad said was when he came to the Corvair was still running. Hard to believe with the motor in the back but my old man said Corvairs are solidly built. Thanks again for the great content and best of luck.

You guys should take a vacation to New Hampshire during fall season. Take a trip up the Kancamagus Highway. Very nice drive. Get a airBnB near the White Mountains.
  • @chriswood4510
Pro tip, take a taxi to Uhaul next time. They will get you a truck at breakneck speed.
  • @gord7025
9:42 No matter where you park at a new place, it's always the wrong spot lol
