We have different tastes in books but I love listening to everything you have to say about them anyways😂

So satisfying to watch the TBR shelf gradually have less and less books on it and now I’m excited to see it get restocked!😌

I'd love to see further comparison into the types of books that were close/spot on vs. Way off. Like, do certain genres tend to be more accurate than others?
  • The Measure holds a special place in my heart. I read it for a book club and already loved it as it was and gave it 5 stars (I would disagree about it not having any big reveals, there was one that caught me off guard ) A little after I read it, my sister in law died at 22 (that also happens to be the age where in the book you get a string) My memorial tattoo is inspired by one of her tattoos and the boarder is a short string and a long string.
  • I also preferred we sold our souls more than final girl support group. Also, all of Grady's books are being developed into TV shows.

It’s 1 a.m. in my country, but of course I’m watching Kayla’s video

I just have to say the combination of your hair, eye and clothes colours lately have been making you look so radiant ✨💙🍒

I don't know if you'll end up giving Maame 5 stars, but I do think you'll at least like it. I've been eagerly awaiting you to read it ever since you first put it on your shelf because I loved it and wanna know what you think

I loved the writing in The Measure. It was a far neater an ending than I usually like, but I'm also a dork who likes puns so a book about strings having every plotline neatly tied up made me chuckle and bump my rating up to a 5.

I would love to see when you've read more of the books - maybe like 100 or so - a scatterplot of the first chapter score vs the final rating to see if there is any trend or if there's absolutely no correlation.

I love that it looks like your eyes are matching your shirt in the first clip. So pretty!

This was so fun to watch! I’d love to see another vlog. Very interesting findings.
  • I found your channel last year and you inspired me to actually get back into reading (I did honours in literature and after I completed my thesis i never wanted to see another book lmaooo). I went from reading one book in 2022 to 21 in 2023! One of the books I read in 2023 was The Drift. I'd love for you to read The Drift as I bought it based off it being one of your 'upcoming books I'm interested in'' videos and I think was the only new release book I read last year. My reading experience was fun as I read a bunch of it on an overnight train from Hanoi to Hue and being in a tiny sleeper cabin really added to the claustrophobic atmosphere of the book. Ultimately, the book was kinda mid for me lol, but I'd love to hear what you think about it, Kayla!!
  • I read The Measure recently too and agree with a lot of your thoughts. I felt like I got to know the characters just well enough to care for them, but like you said it’s all about the idea. I really liked how so many different aspects of it were sprinkled in throughout the book so that you had time to think about them and imagine some for yourself. I would imagine it’s great for book clubs, or even schools, because there are so many dilemmas and situations to discuss. I loved it, would also recommend.
  • I need part 4 of your hobby series. I need new ideas for my audiobook time
  • @hotla7
I was unsure about reading more Grady Hendrix but the I love rock and music so looks like I’m reading we sold our souls
  • Tempted to go through my entire personal library & read the first chapter to decide if I'm going to keep them or not.
  • Given your thoughts on the measure, I am even more convinced you’d love Death with Interruptions by José Saramago.

I love the colour pairs you chose for the retrospective graphics!
