El Chapo got his son to offer El Mayo to the authorities to try to work a deal to get to a lower security prison and/or is helping his son Ovidio get a lesser sentence and/or maybe some other perks/benefits. Keep in mind El Chapo is pissed El Mayo's son Vicente testified against him. El Chapo just returned the favor to the Zambadas.
