Does mixing graphite and isopropyl alcohol really work to easily lubricate your wheels and axles? Easier than applying dry graphite? I suggest 91% or higher alcohol content. NOTE: Isopropyl can remove the chrome off wheels, and if you drip the mix onto your paint job it may stain the clear coat.

Kids, since there's alcohol involved, ask an adult to help.

Thank you! Found the needle tip bottles at Hobby Lobby if anyone is looking for them.
  • Thank you so very much for sharing this helpful advice. I will check it out myself. Blessings
  • This is outstanding brother. Fun to watch and informative at the same time. Very helpful to me. Happy New Year to you and your family.
  • I really like this idea. Seems like it moves the graphite quite a bit further into the areas that need it, including the wheel to chassis contact point. We used something similar in the military called Neolube.
  • GREAT!!! So I've been doing it right! You've saved me so much time! My cars are flying down the track. Check my races out when you have sometime!
  • Awesome, thanks for the video. What is the ratio of alcohol to graphite you use in the mixture? Also, have you ever tried using Pledge on the axles? Supposedly it gives them a slight wax coating.
  • When you say you reapply 2-4 times, do you mean as soon as the alchol dries apply an additional drop? 4 times in a life time? Wanna make sure that I apply correctly
  • Do you have a specific reason for not taking 99.9% Isopropylene? Evaporating water will propably leave residue which we won´t want.
  • What is the best (finest) graphite to use? Ive been using Hobby Lobby graphite, but it's pretty big flakes.
  • Other than chrome coming off, have you ran across any damaging effects to the wheels, axels and/or performance of your cars? Do you still use this mixture?
  • Hi . Wanted to ask. Is it okay after i let the graphite dried up, then i put oil . Will it messed up the wheels?
  • Can you please further explain when you say 2:1 ratio? Thank you

Where can I find the graphite❓I have a diecast car that I want to roll nicely. It’s more ornate than a Hot Wheels, but I’m hoping this process can help.
