My first time cutting a premade doll wig (and setting realistic expectations)

Since I wasn't content with the mature style of the alpaca wig I made, I decided to try cutting this wig that was a $5 doll show find to see if it would give me something a little softer. An important part of this was setting realistic expectations for what a cut synthetic wig would look like.
It still needs to be properly styled with a hot water treatment and gel or wax, but I am pretty sure it will meet my expectations in the end.
Have you tried cutting doll wigs before? How did it go?

I can totally understand just how nerve wracking it is, the old adage of measure twice, no, wait, thrice, maybe twelve times--- before bolstering the courage to make the cut is so daunting! Thank you for sharing your process as always. Lomi!

You did a great job!! I've always been the mom that cuts her kids hair all the way until they were grown. Also the one who cut my husbands' hair trimmed his beard. Even cut our neighbors hair. So I was pretty good at it. But cutting doll wigs is sooo hard. You should see some of them. They are so bad!! 😂 But I'm ok with it. Great job. Looking forward to the rest of what you have planned for him ❤❤❤❤
