  • Seeing this kind of stuff happening on Adult Swim is literally the only reason I miss cable.
  • @RaijuZilla
I see alot of people saying this looks soulless but I think its cool having Cartoon Network characters in the style of Adult Swim bumpers. They even have the checkered past logo hidden in every bumper like how AS is hidden in Adult Swim bumpers. Its like a wave of double nostalgia almost

We got an inadvertent soft reboot of CN City with this. I never thought I'd see the day...
  • @zorafilms
Funny how adult swim (who didn't air the shows originally) has more respect for old CN shows than CN themselves.
  • @StBurkeINC
"after work cartoons" is a lovely phrase
  • The actors for Eustace and Muriel from Courage the Cowardly Dog would've been very happy to see their characters back on the air! They unfortunately died, but if they were to watch Checkered Past, it would bring tears to their eyes. The last actor to be standing is Marty Grabstein who voices Courage. Thea White (1940 to 2021) who voiced Muriel, and Lionel Wilson (1924 to 2003) and Arthur Anderson (1922 to 2016) who voiced Eustace, we miss you, Rest In Peace. Thank you for the couple you've developed together, we miss you 3 very much!

These bumpers genuinely feel like those old CN City bumpers you see back in the day, and I love it

I know some people believe that it's lazy for Cartoon Network to start doing re-runs of old cartoons but let's be real, most of those old cartoons are 100x better and more memorable than most of the recent flashy sparkly colorful vomit that has been produced in the recent years.

Shit. I'm grateful someone at Cartoon Network at the very least pitched an idea like this.
  • @AustinSPTD1996
I do appreciate that Checkered Past is providing reruns of some of the network's most popular vintage shows (especially "Ed, Edd 'n' Eddy" and "Courage the Cowardly Dog"), but a lot of the bumpers feel hastily put together, feeling like cheap tack-ons with the repeated animations on various settings. Still, a part of me does appreciate the idea of replicating CN City-era bumpers (even though the originals remain superior).

This was Adult swim’s answer to TeenNick’s Nick rewind.
  • @jmcsquared18
This is the smartest block idea ever. Everyone who watched the Eds, Courage, Cow & Chicken, and Dexter's Lab are now in their thirties and watch Adult Swim. This rules.
  • If they expand this block in the future, I wonder if they are going to bring back The Powerpuff Girls, Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken, I Am Weasel, Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends, and Codename: Kids Next Door.
  • @LowPing156
I love this, our favorite characters at random locations doing whatever. Reminds me of the cartoon city bumpers
  • @billycash6393
The minute you realize these are all old Cartoon Cartoons shows. 😊
  • @mrpickles6968
I hope this block proves so popular that Cartoon Network checkered past comes to the U.K. and the rest of the world. We watched those shows too years ago and not just the USA
  • @davidjordan5394
Times were better back in the 90s when we used to watch Cartoon Network for the best cartoon shows there’s not much these days. But thanks for bringing back the past checkered past. You have no idea how it really means to us.
