Ellie Goulding is that one singer her songs we sing alot, we hear alot, like literally everywhere, but somehow we feel she's still underrated. Again, despite how many of her songs got on top of the chart.
-
Her voice sounds like 2013
-
I don't think people understand how intelligent Ellie is. The thought that goes into her production and her singing and her songwriting skills are phenomenal, and this interview just goes to show how insightful, and knowledgeable she is when it comes to music.
-
she has consistently put out smash hits for a decade.
-
I never imagined that her voice is actually so low in pitch
-
She’s invested in vocal training and it shows.
-
I thought I "never heard of her". But recognized every song she played. And I don't even listen to pop music. Crazy how someone can be so big yet so "unknown".
-
This gave me new respect for her. Gonna have to dig into her discography and give her the attention she deserves.

‘Halcyon’ is one of the most underappreciated albums of last decade. It was a riskily dark follow up to the soft, folk pop of ‘Lights’. The album sounds mournful, barren and malevolent (“Don’t Say A Word” is kinda scary tbh). She’s viewed as a run of the mill pop singer, but has created some really interesting music and has a great voice (listen to her cover of “All I Want”, I had no idea she could sing like that).
-
Her tone is uplifting and joyful. She is literally spreading happiness with her voice.
-
Tbh Ellie is an underrated vocalist.. Her head voice is classical, her mid voice is raspy rock, her verses are hiphop ish she's every genre
-
all of her songs seem nostalgic to me for some reason, especially the older ones
-
How does she do that raspy sound so perfectly? And then can jump to such a clear sound. Her voice is crazy.
-
Big Juice WRLD fan here. And hearing her praise for him warms my heart
-
All her songs are so hard to cover because she uses her voice is such a unique way, the message doesn’t go through without it
-
She’s such a technical singer and I really love how she shared her technique for people to see it. I love her so much and will forever be fan here!
-
Ellie: I still love singing it to people at weddings:) People at weddings: literally the Prince of England
-
It's so easy to underestimate pop singers, but Ellie Goulding shows how much thought and care goes into the vocal performance, the music, the delivery. This is perfect pop music. Very cool to see her creative process. Her voice naturally sounds so wild - I assumed it was all autotune - but it's not! Very impressive. Keep making music, Ellie!
-
I’ve always wanted a pop star to break it down this thorough. I love this. “You know you’ve got a good chorus when you don’t have to go up, you go down” lolll
-
I knew the voice but not the person. I kinda assumed she was just some random singer with a recognizable sound that was hired by some producers or DJs for commercial songs. This video certainly set that straight. Very interesting and hope to see more artists in videos like this.
