Hi, this video shows you how you can still use your TV with HDMI equipment using Full HD (1080P) even if your HDMI ports have stopped working. For approx. £10-£15 you can keep using your faulty TV by using a HDMI to VGA Adapter and also a HDMI switch.
Many thanks Vince

  • Our TV stopped working this morning. We followed your tips, ordered everything off Amazon and we are back in business! We spent $25 and the picture looks great. Thank you for your video and saving us from having to buy a new TV.

I've got an older TV where the HDMI ports just went out and found this while searching for other possible options. I already knew what you were describing here, but it was good to see someone had made a video explaining it. I may be using my now defective TV in a similar fashion in a less used area, via an HDMI to VGA adapter. Good work and I bet you're helping a lot of people!
  • Very clear concise instructions... easily found everything on Amazon and ordered it. It came to about $25 US Dollars. Way cheaper than buying a new TV and now I will have 3 HDMI inputs with remote. Love it. Thank you! I will let you know how it worked out.

Thanks for making this video. In the US, San Diego, California, where I live, its even cheaper to do this simple fix. Loved the "hot-air" fix your HDMI ports video too. Keep up the great work!

This is great. I "inherited" a 7-year-old 50" TV with all broken HDMI ports and I was about to get rid of it. For 25 bucks it's worth giving this workaround a try.
  • Thanks Vince my lg tv just broke thought about resoldering when I found this video. I had thought about trying the method but never gave it much thought, thanks for the info.

You have literally just saved me £400 + great informative video, got all the parts for under fifteen quid and it worked an absolute treat, thank you so much 😊
  • What a beautiful voice! I wish I could learn about everything with an accented host! 😻 And now that I've finished, beautiful video, thank you Mate Vince! I've learned so much. I'm so glad I can resolve my old 55" connections.

Vince, I was having the "no signal" problem on my LG tv, searched You Tube for an answer and came across this video. I decided to try it since all the needed gear didn't cost much. It worked pretty much like you said and this solution will bridge the gap until I can save for a new TV. Thanks for your help, it got me out of a jam.

Excellent ! very informative and clearly presented. Thank you of all this information. I have been dealing with signal loss on a 50' HDMI cable to my other office (security system hook up) and I have been having a lot of trouble. I now know all the letters of the different cables and what they do and don't do. Thanks again for your video it was very helpful.

I'm so glad I found this video - was pulling my hair out with factory reset and that wasn't working. Will give this a go. Cheers

Thank you for making this video. I thought I would have to buy a new TV. With your steps my tv is working like new.

Vince thank you so much for this video My Monitor HDMI port broke and I didn’t have the money for a new monitor but as I was searching for an answer I found this video and I found it really helpful so I decided to buy all the parts (expect for the HDMI switcher I bought a Coupler instead) from Amazon at a cost of $20 CAD and it works perfect I get 1080p with my PS4 and whoever comes across this video just letting you know this works 100% great advice 👍🏻👍🏻

Thank you so much Vince... your fix worked like a charm! The HDMI ports blew on my LG 55LX6500 and I got zero help from LG customer service on how to fix or work around the problem. LG even denies there is a problem with the HDMI ports on this generation of their TVs. Their only suggestion was to call out a service tech which made no sense for an 8 year-old TV. Ordered all the parts you suggested thru Amazon for CAD$ 37.30, followed your installation instructions and within 5 minutes I had my Cable TV Gateway and my ROKU back operating on the TV. Again, thanks for the great advice!
  • It's so weird that ten years ago I would have been scratching my head wondering what the heck this all meant. I understood what you used (and for what purpose) you used all the gadgets for. I didn't actually know that this was possible before though. You are very clear and easy to follow. I watched a few of your other videos too. Thank you so much for making these videos.I also have subscribed to your channel, so when I have problemsin the future, I'll know right where to look.
  • @DanielJohnHowTo
I didn't realise this, thanks for making the video I'm sure it will help people.

Thank you SO much! I was able to get our gaming systems back up and running on our family room television - my kids thank you too!
  • Great Video. Wish I'd seen this before I bought a Male HDMI port and Soldering Kit. I'm sure many are ignorant about the VGA workaround,, which I'll still use as I've only got 2HDMI's. Many Thanks.
  • Thank you, thank you! All four of our hdmi ports blew at once and this was a quick and easy solution. ***UPDATE: 5 years in and we are still using this. Much cheaper than a new tv!
  • My HDMI port broke, just did this exactly like he said and it worked. The only issue i had is the my gender changer came with screws on the side that block it from being able to plug in on one side. Just used a regular VGA cable with male ends. Worked perfectly and saved my TV for 6 dollars on EBAY. This is probably the most useful, to me, video on YouTube ever. 👍
