Once Upon a Studio is a 2023 American live-action/animated fantasy comedy short film written and directed by Dan Abraham and Trent Correy, produced by Walt Disney Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. In the film, animator Burny Mattinson discovers Disney characters are coming to life from pictures hanging in the studio building. Inspired by The Walt Disney Company's upcoming 100th anniversary on October 16, 2023, the short film was described as a "love letter" to Walt Disney Animation Studios by Correy and Abraham. The short's art style combines computer graphics, traditional animation and live-action.

Once Upon a Studio premiered at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival on June 11, 2023, and will have its first public showing on ABC on October 15, 2023 as part of The Wonderful World of Disney: Disney's 100th Anniversary Celebration before screening in theaters with Wish on November 22, 2023.

  • "Imagine if Walt could see this?" Who says he can't? He sees it, and he is proud.
  • I’m pretty certain that was Scott’s voice (Aladdin). I met Scott last year and he told me Disney called him to record something for the 100 anniversary. I’ve been patiently waiting for this short ever since ❤
  • @RandomDragonEXE
6:05 that's Alan Tudyk voicing The Mad Hatter. He's come full circle from using Ed Wynn's voice as inspiration for the Hatter, to voice King Candy, to actually voicing the Hatter himself. The legend.
  • @DustinBlaise
Seeing the Brother Bear characters towards the end made me start tearing up harder than Mickey and Walt's moment. My Dad, Aaron Blaise, was a Disney Animator and Directed Brother Bear. He's still alive and well making art and animation teaching courses online. But seeing his characters being immortalized in this short hit me hard. I have always been so proud of his accomplishments. If you have not seen Brother Bear yet, I highly recommend it.

Tom Hulce reprising Quasimodo got me. Hunchback is one of my favorites, since I used to swing around like Quasimodo as a kid. And of course hearing the extra lines from Robin Williams’ Genie and Mickey’s moment with Walt.
  • @AttemptedVoices
This truly was a dream come true. So happy my boy Scar got to use his iconic line, Robin Williams got to be Genie one last time, the Mickey and Walt moment, and the deepcut cameo for Robin, AND THAT BEAUTIFUL ENDING
  • Did you guys notice in the final shot "Nani" and "David" from LILO and STITCH are wearing "Johnny Fedora" and "Alice Blue-Bonnet"?
  • I initially compared this ending with that of "Who Framed Roger Rabbit", which also ends with a huge crowd of cartoon characters, Disney and non-Disney alike, all singing a huge rousing song together. But now that I think of it, for sheer emotion from a huge crowd of characters singing a big rousing together, a more apt comparison would have to be the finale of "The Muppet Movie", which ends similarly to this.
  • @qrowing
"Is that all the Treasure Planet we're gonna get?!" Right?! lmao. I was stupid happy to see Jim, and really hoping to see Silver or Delbert. Amelia gets in at the end there at least! Really appreciate you guys pausing and totally just dumping Disney facts! If I'm not mistaken, Mad Hatter was Alan Tudyk- basically just his King Candy haha.
  • @EmmaMaezin
Since you pointed out the Star Wars reference it made me think is “There’s a carp in my cap” a Toy Story reference for “There’s a snake in my boot”! xx
  • @knottyorchid1212
actually Mad Hatter was done by Alan Tudyk fun fact he used the mad hatter voice as inspiration for King Candy in Wreck it Ralph
  • 3:07 As just a passive Disney consumer/watcher, I love hearing all of Ben’s fun facts!! 🥰 I just love listening to people talk about something they’re passionate abou
  • @usersybbhL
The fact you know all the characters is so satisfying
  • @ryaku5
That is indeed Aladdin's original voice actor. Also, the character who voices the Mad Hatter in this short is also the voice of King Candy from Wreck-It Ralph. You can tell because the original Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland had a lower pitched voice. Also, as much as I like the Mickey and Walt bit and love the Genie, Ralph and final shot parts, Hades' line never fails to make me laugh.
  • @StaidBubble12
I love how Snow White and Asha get put together which also not only represents the first Disney princess to the newest but also Ariana DeBose voices Asha and Rachel Zegler will be Snow White in the remake and both worked together on West Side Story. Both are taking their turns being Disney princesses at the same time.
  • @Knightowl1980
Bens smile and enthusiasm is infectious. He’s so hyped about Disney, I loved it, - Yeah I clocked Pocahontas immediately.
  • @alexbrunner1900
Jim and Milo are also my favorite characters, along with a lot of the other underrated characters. And hearing “Feed the Birds” gave me chills.
  • @Sovreign071
Alan Tudyk voiced the Mad Hatter in this short. In fact, he's using his King Candy voice, which he based on Ed Wynn!
  • Lol y'alls reaction to this short was amazing! I loved this short to death.(I've watched it about a billion times and plan to do it in the weekend.) It brought all the good feels that everyone comes to love from Disney. I was so surprised when jim hawkens came down the halls with sizu. Laughed at pretty much the majority of the funny bits. And it was very sweet that mickey had his time to say thank you to walt, It was super heart warming. Tbh the biggest reaction i had was near the end with everyone was singing when you wish upon a star. And having Quasi sing a part of it made me scream with joy! (He was one of my favorites growing up.) And that's when the water works started. This was the ultimate tribute to it's century long history, and i wouldn't have it any other way. ✨️🎇🎆
