Sick Drummer Magazine and Kevin Paradis of Benighted are pleased to bring you this Benighted 'Scars' play-through video contest, in cooperation with Season of Mist Records, T-Cymbals, ACD Unlimited, and Evans Drumheads. Kevin is insane, so we know this is no easy task for any drummer, but give it a try and get your name out there! If you're already out there and known, give it a shot for fun! The fact you try to find "grooviness" in fills at these speeds speaks volumes about the progression of extreme metal drumming. A lot of times people will say this type of drumming has no groove. When you switched to left foot blasting I was still looking for the right foot. I thought your right foot was just moving so fast it was no longer visible!

Im digging the phrasing of hos cymbals after the intense blasts. Kevin is a relentless beast, and if the rest of the album is written this well then we're in for a killer album with EKBOM. April 12th can't come fast enough.

Those China fills around 15:15 are very reminiscent of how Sean Reinert played 3 (ride) over 4 (kicks)... and hit his cymbal accents to create a 5 feel.

Dude drums have reached a level I never thought possible.. I played hard for 15 or 20 years and sadly I never came close to these speeds.. maybe next lifetime
