New Tyranid Rules vs Ultramarines - A Battle Report to Remember!

Published 2022-03-22
Welcome to the end of the meta! The new rise of the Tyranid invasion across the Galaxy!

And to be the Tyranid's first victim... promises were made. Oaths were shouted. Debts will now be collected! I told Baldermort the first thing I'd do with my new Tyranids would eat him, in his model persona. So in spirit, the Ultramarines will be lead by High Chaplin Baldermort!

Thank you to @baldermort for being a good sport about this. He's probably the kindest human on Youtube. Please follow him in the link below:

Also be sure to watch this from him. Learn your enemy well:

  • Good shout on Baldermort he's an absolute treasure! 👍 Great to see Tyranids on the table, especially when they're devouring the Emperor's finest 👍😁

Odin has a cooler name but I can't let down a fellow redhead so I'm going for clementine. That said I'd recommend playing without the feline biotitans. Their ability to act outside of turn order and oneshot most units in the game is pretty powerful, but it is in fact so powerful that it warps the metagame around the unit and the game becomes mostly about doing your best to control the unreliable units incredible power. On top of this they have an even greater propensity for friendly fire than Karn, which both means the game can feel like a coinflip and also combines poorly with their capability of permanent model destruction. I can see why you'd want to play with them as the sculpts are fantastic and the units are unique but it's just not good for the game. Take these quotes from my opponents when I took one to a local Tourney. "Did that girl just put her fucking cat on the table???" "Uuuuuhm Judge!" "I'm sure you thought this was funny but this is getting ridiculous, please stop."

Thanks for pointing me to this on the Dakka Dakka site, The Tervigon is becoming my number one tyranid just because you can push it into the enemy attacking in all 3 phases!
  • Team Oden! No wait Team Clementine…. No wait I can’t decide!!!!
  • @JasonM69
Team Clementine, was gonna vote Odin as he looks like my cat Ganon but had to try and even the vote. I've seen a lot of people complaining about the Termagants and Tyranofex saying they're no good, I disagree. Edit: Just noticed the Hyrule shield, nice.
