Why You Should NOT Sign up for Voice Recognition as an Enhanced Security Feature

Visual Description: A woman addresses the camera. She has brown hair worn curled, and brown eyes. She's dressed in dishabille. She uses her hand movements, facial expressions, and vocal intonation to help express herself and communicate her ideas. There is a plain, light blue wall in the background.

Description: I am very concerned about voice recognition as a security feature. I think that it's too easy to replicate someone's voice, and so I would never feel comfortable relying on it as a form of identity verification. Many of us have clips containing our voice out there on the internet. There's also the various serious concern of AI/Synthetic voice clones. Because AI voice clones can sound so similar to human voices now, I'm concerned that they could be used for impersonation and/or fraud.

100 % agree. There have been instances where family members are receiving calls from loved ones stating they have been kidnapped and need ransom money..... meanwhile their * kidnapped * loved ones are at work or home. Scary times we live in. The elderly are a big target for this...
