  • Hello Rick, I also own a PS-LX 500 turntable. Looks like new and works perfectly except for lowering the tonearm. Now to my question; is there any possibility to set or influence in any way that the tonearm is lowered gently and does not fall unchecked onto the LP?

Can be little bit better - if you do some carefully and precision adjustment in the arm itself ( I mean laser diode sensor ) than you can do smaller angle error with stylus position , nice video !

Hi Rick, great video showcasing the LX 500. Would it be possible to weigh the P-Mount fixation thumbscrew. I suspect it is a calibrated weight which works with the sliding weight adjustment in the tonearm, 1Gr VTF in the retracted position and 1.5Gr VTF in the extended position. Have an LX 510 with a non Sony fixation screw and I think it's tracking light and cannot bump to 1.5Gr VTF if necessary. TIA.

Hi Rick, I have a humming noise on both channels, even when the turntable is turned off, it can be heard on the amplifier, do you think this is related to the ground wire, because I don't see any, there is a blue colored plug on the output, and I don't know if it is to connect a ground wire? The diamond is new! Thank you for your answer.
