  • This whole fight is the definition of: the pay to win player vs the master who hasn't spent a dime on the game.
  • Best part about this is Atom is literally built for this. He’s a training bot, which means he’s meant to take damage and get up regardless. Homeboy is the definition of a walking tank and I love it. One of the only movies that I was genuinely hyped up for 😂
  • Ahh the good old days where there wasn’t a single worry in the world. Watched this movie as a kid and now im already an adult. Time flies too fast
  • @MoBallin
Zeus: WHY WONT YOU GO DOWN? Atom: I can do this all Day

A little detail I think is cool: In the beginning walk Atom shows a bit of sentience. Notice how he's looking down at the boy despite the boy looking forward and his father looking forward too. He's not mirroring them, it's his own movement. And when the boy turns his head, he suddenly mirrors the boy again to make sure he isn't caught.
  • One of my favorite movies from my teenage years. I always love an "underdog who makes their way to the top" kind of story. The fact that Charlie himself was "fighting" Zeus during the final round and pulled off that right hook with the jump...whole scene gave me chills. Tenacity, passion, and skill just can't ever be store bought.
  • When you’re a low lvl fighting a boss, But you keep watching ads to revive.
  • I love how when Atom landed a punch the Asian guy took off his sunglasses like “Oh shit”
  • I love how they also approached Atom hinting that he may be more than you think. Some of the scenes where they put emphasis on mirrors and how he behaves, they basically show that he might be sort of aware of himself and the world around him.
  • The fact that Atom brought Zeus down counts as a win. It's like a mortal knocking out a God.
  • I can't believe it's been 10 years already since this movie came out. How time flies.
  • Perfect example of Rocky Balboa's motivational speech. "It ain't about how hard you hit, it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward, how much can you take, and keep moving forward, that's how winning is done." Correct me if I mistyped the speech.
  • What made this fight so good was not only the fight itself, but what it stood for. Charlie vs Zeus was Charlie vs Niko Tandy. The bot wasn't supposed to be fighting back same as Charlie, but this time he fought back and won. Charlie took the world by storm twice and won the second time. This time fighting for his son With his shadow boxing, we finally saw what Charlie was in his prime. A force who would simply not back down

Real steel is one of those movies that nobody talks about but everybody likes for some reason And I’m not blaming them, I loved this movie as a kid
  • I think the whole premise of the movie was that atom reintroduced the “human” aspect of fighting and that’s what gave him that edge to all robots programed to fight “robotically” or “Linear” if that makes sense . That’s why Zeus could not predict his moves as he was unpredictable with “Human” wit .

Zeus: millions and millions of dollars worth robot meant to destroy whatever it sees. Atom: Free and almost indestructible steel robot that managed to knock Zeus down.
  • Literally an unstoppable force versus an immovable object. Zeus is a glass cannon, relying on his tech being able to provide an endless onslaught but not in being able to defend himself when he needs it. Representative of their design philosophy, Zeus is a show pony with the all the latest bells and whistles. He’s meant to last at most 3 rounds before his systems run low. Meanwhile Atom is a sparring bot. He is meant to be able to last an onslaught and constant torment and be able to pick himself up right after. Going days on end for the sake of training. His systems are built to last the test of time and nearly work magic to keep him running. It’s beautiful how well they rounded this movie out.
