The Butcher’s Nails are a series of cranial implants that instil feelings of intense hostility and unchecked aggression within their hosts, turning once sane and reasonable men into little more than frothing berserkers. But what could have happened if Angron, the Primarch of the World Eaters legion, had himself never received such implants?

The main reason why I decided to do a remastered video on this topic, is because there was a massive influx of comments on the previous version saying I missed information from "Angron: Slave of Nuceria", despite the original video coming out close to two years before that book was released. But on the plus side, this new version now has a lot more information within it than the original, which is always a good thing.

Angron: The Emperor's empathy. Every Primarch needs a shoulder to cry on.

3:12 "with the Primarch raising a slave army that would become known as the Yeeters of Cities"

Angron’s such a tragic character. I really feel for him. I really do. His fate was unfair from the very beginning. From what I can tell, he was actually a very empathetic and sensitive soul who was forced on his path of damnation through no choice of his own. He didn’t deserve this. All he could do was accept his lot in life. He never had a choice of what happened to him. And though he may be a base animal now, I believe. If and when the time comes that he will be slain, do not let it be out of hatred or vitriol. Let it be a mercy killing. Let him know that he was not given up on. Let him know that he was loved. At least just for once in his miserable life. He deserves that much at least.

Well without the nails he would be just Ron.
  • @RohenBlackwolf
Angron (without the nails) and Vulcan were the carebears of the whole bunch.

If Angron didn't had the butcher's nail then perhaps he and his fellow gladiators would've been successful in their rebellion. He would've been able to think more tactical and logical in battle instead of just being brutal.

No decimation to his legion for not achieving victory within 31 hours. Thousands of world eaters died needlessly before and after they received the butcher's nails.
  • @benives254
His compassion would've made Vulkan look like a miserly misanthrope.

Would have possibly been the strongest willed out of any of them. Honestly had the potential to be one of the greatest.

"Their disrespect in defacing a symbol of the Emperor must be punished. We shall make those seditionists pay in blood. " "I dunno, Konrad. You always seem to like, wanna' just jump in and kill everyone. It was just a taco somebody tossed at the Aquila, I'm sure it wasn't intentional." "Damnit, Chillron, you take the fun out of everything!"

If Angron was loyal to the Emperor and was at his side on the Vengeful Spirit the Emperor would kill Horus while Angron would chop off Ezekyle Abaddon's arms and declaring Abaddon to be forever known as Failbaddon the Harmless. Angron would gleefully return to his Legion and get his Apothecaries to preserve Abaddon's arms so he could keep them as trophies for the luls.

Theoretically speaking, what if a returned Angron or a clone of him still had his empathy power, and used it near a Blood Angel suffering from the Black Rage? Would he cure the condition, or would he also begin to regard himself as Sanguinius?
  • 3:11 For a second I thought you said "The Yeeters of cities." And I got this image in my head of Angron being so fucking angry that he just picked up a whole city and threw it.
  • @____________838
Still think the real question is what would have happened if the Emperor didn’t deny Angron his request to help his warriors.
  • @sunderland6229
I’m pretty sure you said “eaters of cities” but all I heard was “Yeeters of cities”
  • @robinderoos1166
You forgot one thing: if Angron would remain loyal, he would never have helped Lothar with the creation of the ruinstorm. So no imperium Secundus, and more reinforcements for terra. Horus wouldn't have stood a chance in a direct assault on terra.
  • I remember when I was new to 40K asking the question " if the emperor didn't want his son to fall to chaos maybe he could have started by not naming his son Angeron" I just remembered that now and it made me laugh.
  • @Ultra_Sauce
Could you imagine a controlled angron beating the shit out of Horus?
