I have never played master mode, nor have I ever chosen summoner for my class. So in this video I fix both issues in one grueling and rather ridiculous playthrough. This was super fun, and I hope you think so too. Enjoy the video, have a great day, and thanks for watching! :)

Pro tip from an old school summoner: if you build a wall behind your arenas the spider staff can actually reach flying enemies.

This dude single-handedly fought more times against the empress of light than I probably have attempted against every boss combined since I first started playing Terraria 9 years ago. That’s insane dedication

Your main mistake in the Plantera fight was skipping out on the OSOGOF tunnel

Quick tip for future summoner playthroughs: instead of looking for finch staff you can build a graveyard where Abigail's bloom spawns. No need to look around half of your world with bare hands.
  • Honestly, subscribing for that pure dedication in that Empress of Light determination to get her. Holy hell man.

seeing you switch into the master mode mindset and absolutely eviscerate the bosses that were killing you before felt so satisfying

ending gave me goosebumps, also DID ANYONE REALISE THAT 1 PALADIN DROPPED BOTH THE PALADINS SHIELD AND THE HAMMER

As someone who mains Summoner, there's a few things that I think should be pointed out from this run; 1. Forgetting the Pygmy Necklace really hurt you going into Wall of Flesh. You rectified that later, but it's still a pretty important item for Summoners. 2. Limiting yourself from using Turrets is just needlessly nerfing yourself. Having access to things like the Queen Spider or Lightning Traps is a major amp during most fights and events. Once again, you lost out on your DPS races from not having your turrets available. 3. Why were you Armored vs Daytime Empress? All it takes is one search of her behaviour and you'd know that having armor vs her is pointless; She's a DPS race, down to the core. 4. That first Destroyer fight was lolcity. I remember that happening to me once and being so confused. You need to either go all-out on the initial summon of it, or pace yourself so the Probes aren't overwhelming you. 5. Some minions are limited by how much damage they can do per iframe. Blade Staff summons don't fully ignore iframes -- they have their own set. I think the magic number for them was six, but it's been a while. Either way, mixing your minions is the best way to max your DPS, since once one set is maxed out, the others are still doing their own damage via localized iframes. 6. If you want to take your Summoner play to the next level, look into Whip Stacking. If you're good enough, you can stack 3 to 4 whip buffs at a time, really amping your DPS -- both from whip buffs themselves and from minions doing a hell of a lot more damage. (Yes, the damage amp stacks.) 7. While probably not allowed per your rules, the Rod of Discord (and subsequently Rod of Harmony) is a Summoner's best friend. You want to get away from damage, so having an emergency GTFO button helps a lot. 8. Why didn't you ever use Hallowed Armor with a Cross Necklace+? You get so many iframes plus a guaranteed dodge every now and again. It would've helped a fair bit vs the bosses between Mechs and Pumpkin Moon completion. Otherwise, congrats on beating Master Mode with Summoner. It's much more difficult than some realize, especially Daytime Empress. But you stuck through it and finished it.

This video kept appearing in my recommendations, and I kept putting it off because I thought to myself "With summon weapons? That's not really a challenge. You're just choosing a class." I finally gave this video a go and quickly discovered it was less about the summon weapons, and more about your master mode journey. It was a surprisingly fun watch. Nice job :)

The actual challenge was editing it all down to 30 minuutes

As a summoner main, here's some tips: 1. Pre-boss will always be the most grindy part of progression, and pre-mech will be tough 2. Destroyer, because you have such low defense, is a LOT harder to tank, which makes him a much harder mech by comparison to other classes. A tip for the fight though, Optic Staff is actually among the best summons for that fight specifically 3. against Queen Slime I generally use Imp/Hornet staff, they hit the second phase a lot more consistently. 4. Kill empress at night for Kaleidoscope before attempting daytime, the whip helps a ton. Also, I suggest fighting her on a Witch's Broom, as it gives much more precise movement, which is great for Empress, and frees accessories to max damage and speed up the fight. on the whole though, this summarizes Summoner playthroughs pretty well!

Obviously you went ahead and beat it, but as someone who primarily plays summoner I will say there were some things you could have done to make your playthrough a bit easier. (Note that I'm currently only to the plantera battle at this point in the video lol) 1. Summoner potions. They allow you an extra minion slot. Very worth it even though you have to do a lot of fishing in the underground jungle (in fact you can fish up a ton while your minion is farming for the snapthorn and you don't even need to get the zoologist whip) edit: just paused and saw you do have summoner potions lol. I was mostly just surprised you didn't have them in the flinx staff phase because I try to have them constantly through the whole game lol 2. Farm WoF to get the firecracker. In early HM I tend to use both the Cool Whip and the Firecracker 3. Early game it's a lot easier to get Abigail's flower than the finch staff. They do comperable damage and if you struggle to get through certain biomes early game it can be hard to get to living trees. 4. Sentrys are summon weapons and for me have been the make or break difference in some boss fights

This is amazing, i really enjoy watching others to see just how different our gaming styles are
  • @hihihellohihello
i love as soon as he puts on the pirate outfit, hes instantly able to kill the twins 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Edit: also the photocards of him standing next to the relic after each boss is really silly, i like it
  • I feel like the Empress of Light daytime fight would've gone much smoother if you used an infinite flight mount like the UFO, Cute Fishron, Witch Broom or Pirate Ship mount
