Qualifying is an issue for low or lower income unmarried adults. These folks are last in line. i’m not saying that families with children shouldn’t come first. i’m a firm believer that no child should hungry, especially in this country. But there are so many elderly in this country who are low income but not low enough income to qualify for the vast majority of programs.

Medicaid in Missouri is no longer free - they lowered the income limits to $1250 monthly. Anyone making over$1250 monthly has to pay monthly premiums starting at $104 monthly. Ridiculous because if you make $1250 monthly, all that is eaten up with rent and utility bills so there is no money left over to buy food, yet we're forced to pay premiums.

Medicaid covered my son's medical bills from a car wreck in 2018. His total hospital bill not including rehabilitation for a traumatic brain I jury came to $1.72 Millon.
  • Medicaid covered my fight against cancer, I owe them my life. I hate to think what my life cost.😊

Thank you for helping the people and posting these videos. It's ironic and a shame people have to ask the government for help, in the first place, while paying millions in taxes. Aside from another well developed and timely video I'd like to complement you on your delivery. Your tone and cadence are a pleasure to listen to.
  • You forgot to tell about that fact that the interest on student loans continues to accrue and they add it to the principal loan while you aren't paying it through the IDR program. This is a very important part you aren't including.
  • Thanks for all you do, Nicole. You are absolutely amazing and we truly appreciate you.❤

I did the Internet one. What a crock!! It was 30gigs for the entire month, but only for six months, but I had to contract for one year. If there is government at the end of those strings, no way. Don't do it.

Went to the hospital very ill. Diagnosed with low potassium after waiting in freezing exam room for several hours. Had no insurance. Told my bill was $1400. Remembered I had just qualified for social security after working for 42 years and now had Medicare. Was rebilled for over $4000! Told I was paying for the uninsured and Medicaid. Somebody pays for it.

The thing that is bad about Food Stamps in MO is that even if you are very low-income, you can't get food stamps if you have too many assets. The asset limits are way too low, in my opinion. You can be a senior citizen living on $806 a month from Social Security, but you still don't qualify for food stamps.

According to what I have found online, the state of WA requires you to be 100% disabled and you have to purchase Disabled Veteran plates. You can only get one set of these plates. If you get a special background for the plates, the free renewal is nullified.

Thank you Nicole and staff for sharing useful & helpful information as always ❤
  • Yep, seems if you don't have children under 18, you are nothing. My son is 30. Disabled, he can't drive, has developmental issues, autism and a Mitochondrial disease. Wanted to get him on low income apartments, but they said no matter what, a single mother with children will always bump him back down. Webjust got him a cute little trailer and he will live in a mobile home park. His rent is going to be $670 per month. He only gets $934 per month. Sad.

I ended up in hospital and ended up being life flighted! Intensive care. Heart problems. Thank heaven for Medicaid!! They even pay monthly for my very expensive meds! Everyday I am great full!!!
