Its not supposed to support procrastinating. its supposed to stop ppl like me from not claiming all event rewards at once and havjng the red marker annoy me
  • Genshin has a very clear game design: You have to actually play the game. Other games let you log in and autobattle and be done for the day, Genshin does not. This change to encounter points is a concession, but to get them you have to, at some point, play the game and engage with the open world. This is a core piece of design philosophy. It's hard to remember now, but why did Genshin do so well? A lot of factor, but it was marketed as a GAME, directly compared to major single-player titles, not other gachas. A lot of decisions for Genshin are still being made with the intent that people will actually play the game and interact with the world, and I think that is overall a good thing.
  • Event area counts towards points. Natlan is next patch. You can cherry pick easy daily commissions to keep stacked encounter points. This system is best case scenario. You can literally complete your dailies by making condensed resin. I love this system.
  • @Truck-kun11
I LOVE that crafting Condensed Resin counts as "Spending Resin" so if you farmed the day before you can complete your Dailies in 30 seconds the next day. The only thing I feel is missing to be perfect is an increase in the Condensed Resin limit to at least 10 to be able to store up to 2 days of Resin, so my weekly routine could be: - Condenses Resin - Condenses Resin - Farming - Condenses Resin - Condenses Resin - Farming - Weekly Bosses

Answering the question of why not do Dailies like in HSR and ZZZ: HSR and ZZZ have combat as their main focus, with "exploration" being minimal and not very relevant. Dailies being quick and simple allows players to get straight to what they came for without annoying speed bumps. Genshin, on the other hand, has exploration and the open world as its main appeal, so Dailies being something that motivates you to walk around the world has always been the objective, with this new system being a compromise between the two types where dailies are quick and simple but players are still pushed to engage with the open world.

Exploration is the main content of genshin and having the daily system related to exploration just makes sense. I've been exploring a lot more after encounter points got added and am enjoying the game more.
  • I absolutely ADORE this fix to the encounter point system. I liked the idea of it before, with the encounter points rewarding you for exploring, one of the core game play loops, but I hated it when I felt like I was wasting the point. I like to do my exploration in batcher, like one day is for doing the world quest related to an area, the next is for a genral sweep of the area for chests, then the various world quests, Oculi next, and finally getting any achievements that I hadn't already gotten. When the encounter point system was released, I would try to space these out so as to not waste the points, but it always left me feeling un satisfied with the exploration. Now, I can return to my previous exploration style and not have to worry about the points at all!

Genshin dailies are now just straight up faster than any other hoyo game. And btw just doing the new summer event gives you around 120 points which is enough for 30 days. Btw I genuinely think it's better than the hsr system since this encourages players to play the game and rewards them for doing so.
  • @Kuddochan
Once Natlan comes out you’ll get literally hundreds of points just from exploring the new area and doing the quests. Add to that future events and map expansions etc, realistically you’ll probably never have to do commissions ever again if you play somewhat actively. Massive change.
  • @mark9152
Because the core of Genshin is the exploration and story. Combat is just a sprinkle. So the EP is a way to incentivize people to you know... interact with what the core of the game is. In HSR you can do all the dailies by using all your resin while asking a friend while in auto. Because the core of HSR is... well... collecting characters to auto-battle. In ZZZ you can do the dailies by gambling with the dog, getting your coffee, and claiming (and putting up) your expedition. Because the core of the ZZZ is combat combat combat. It wants you to move on with the busy work so you can go straight to its core.
  • @NiramBG
Honestly I like this current iteration of the system more than the ones in ZZZ and SR! Everyone that 100%-ed everything previously can still make use of it by doing a bit of the new event area and next patch we're gonna have a new nation and archon/side quests to fuel it. It is funny though that when they introduced it at first it actually made me explore less, because I'm someone who likes to do just dailies most of the week and them maybe a day or two in the week I like to explore or quest and so I felt punished, because I was missing out on encounter points for doing stupid dailies like the ones you mentioned, but now with this simple change of being able to store them it's done a 180 for me!
  • 3:15 well. Let’s be clear and fair. This patch, we’ve gotten a new map that should be capable of supplying all your encounter points for the patch. If it doesn’t, then that’s a technical waste since they’ll just reset in 5.0 In 5.0, we will get a Huge Natlan map, and based off previous patterns it’s likely we’ll get updates to it in 5.1 and 5.2 as well, at minimum. Plus we can expect Blackcliff Forge and Dornman Port as expansions to Liyue and Mondstadt as special regions. So no, the new long term encounter points isn’t punishing older and more on top of it players for playing the game in any significant way. Because we’ll always be being fed new content to be getting long term encounter points from, it’s really not dependent on past stuff much
  • @wansper9297
As someone who does 100% every region immediatly, no I am not annoyed, I just 100%ed Simulanka and got enough encounter points for the rest of the patch, it resets after that anyway, and then I just 100% the 5.0 map and will once again have enough to last till all the expansions
  • @yachtman87
If you unlock enough encounter points you should be able to unlock a "skip dialogue" option
  • @saahil0855
For me the new encounter points and 10 sec. boss respawn are the best thing genshin has done in terms of QOL in 4 years......!!!! Now just fix the theatre and add more stuff in it....AND give us more floors in the abyss...I'll praise this game with all my heart...!!!
  • @Melotaku
I like current commissions. They are never going to change the current commission system because Genshin is an open world game. It gives us a reason to interact with the open world. And I'm all for having more reasons to interact with the open world. I've never been a fan of domains. It's like, what's the point of the open world, if everything is just in a separate small flat circular room?
  • @abolfazlkkk
That is sad that under every genshin related video i am going to find comments that say: oh, i am playing another game right now and i don't play genshin because the other game is better. I can never understand those people.
  • 6:48 honestly it's just because of the nature of the game. And the open worldness. I think they have done the bets they can here. And it's great
  • @CyrilCommando
The new daily system would've helped prevent me from getting burnt out earlier on from doing dailies repeatedly. Sure wish they would've added it back then!
  • @toub.
I am already used to doing my dailies every day, so even if I gotta do some dailies in-between encounter point days, it just seems so much better. Basically before, encounter points were just something that exists to me, because there was no real use since I do my exploration on a weekend so I get like 2 days of dailies covered by them when a new region comes out. But now even I benefit from them. It will be even better because Natlan is coming soon so there'll be a reason to actually do the dailies for achievements and just to see what they've been coming up with weird dailies this time. And while I do that, I am encounter point maxxing for the next months. So even as a non-"procrastinator", I like this system.
