I really hope you guys find this Krita tutorial helpful!! 🎨✨ I've put some helpful links in the description to more in depth information (Krita Manual, Picking a Canvas Size etc) 🎨✨TIMESTAMPS✨🎨 00:00 Introduction 00:22 Creating Your Canvas 01:53 Fixing Brush Lag 03:00 Finding Missing Brushes (❗this part is important❗) 03:34 Shortcuts and Canvas Navigation 05:40 My Favourite Brushes 09:09 Step One: Messy Sketch 09:45 Step Two: Refined Sketch 10:25 Step Three: Flat Colours 10:54 Step Four: Shadows and Highlights 11:40 Step Five: Blending 13:15 General Tips 15:10 Outro If theres anything I didn’t cover in this video or any questions you have, don’t hesitate to let me know!! ^^ * 00:58 Turns out when working in pixels, the resolution shouldn't have much of an effect on lag. * Also correction for 1:40, I don't recommend working in CMYK from the start as that will limit you to a smaller colour space, so if you want to print something just convert it from RGB to CMYK later! (thank you so much to the person who let me know

I'm a sucker for keyboard shortcuts, so here are all of them listed: m: mirror image (for proportions) 4: rotate left 6: rotate right shift+space+drag: more rotation control 5: reset rotation to 0 + and - : zoom in and out 1: reset zoom 2: zoom to fit page 3: zoom to page width shift+drag: resize brush ctrl+click: color pick

"start with a really rough sketch" proceeds to draw face that looks better than everything I ever made
  • @orktv4673
The tutorial started off great, not only pointing us to the important tools but also explaining why they are important, but after you gave your favourite pencils everything went ridiculously fast and I can only search for other tutorials now to properly understand it.
  • I'm mixed on this video: Good: I really like how you talk about setting things up, and navigation. I also like you taking to show & explain your preferred brushes. Bad: Once you start painting - You speed everything up, and don't show how to do some of the important bits, like how to setup masks in layers. For the next video, would you mind taking a few to slow down on parts, like masks, layers and other things you're doing, and show how to do that? (For those who are getting started in drawing, not just getting started in Krita.)

that moment when you are actually taking notes from a youtube video.
  • @hassanzia9264
Her messy sketch is more perfect than what I'll be able to do in my entire life.
  • @XabioArts
I didn't comment at the time but this helped me last year so much. One of the best tutorials I've seen. Lots of info and easy and interesting to watch. Tysm
  • I’ve been using Krita for the past year now (I’ve never done digital drawing prior to using Krita), and even after using the program for so long your video still taught me things I didn’t know yet! Thank you so much for making this video ✨
  • @manesbe9158
mmm ok just draw it "messy" 9:33 proceeds to draw a masterpiece
  • @robinpie5457
For some reason I have no motivation to draw and I’m really sad but I’m watching your videos for motivation
  • I’m still very new to art in the grand scheme of things (still just under a year!) and I use krita- clicked on this to see how much I’m missing out on and was so heartwarmed to see so many things I do incorporated into the list. Makes me feel good- I’m actually on the right path. ❤️ the painting was gorgeous, by the way!

Dynamite tutorial for a advanced or beginner digital painters. I am sure I will watch this over and over again getting more and more out of it every time I get stuck and/or progress. Thank you.
  • @Bnuuy56
I can't believe that someone precisely published a digital tutorial on the exact program that i'm using as a starter in 2020 and 2021. :o
  • @alinaham1710
I just started working with krita. This is going to help me alot. Thank you!!
  • @heneedsloveoooh
i like how your "sketchy and loose" sketch is 1000x cleaner than my "clean" sketching ability oops I may need to work on that
  • @vandalpaulius
That favourite brush part is soooo welcome! Thanks for that! For beginner like me (literally bought the tablet 2 hours ago) the amount of power those programs have is a bit overwhelming so simplification helps a lot! <3
  • @denyz4929
"1st step is to start with really rough sketch" me like wHat?!
  • The Best BEGINNER FRIENDLY Krita Tutorial I've found so far. Thank You!!!!!!!!
  • @Evan.the.Butler
I was having really bad problems with pen lag and gave up on using Krita on my newish computer, but your second tip on the trilinear filtering seems to have fixed it! It's now running even smoother than I expected, so thank you!
