Regular people show up and wait for hours to pay their respects. I truly love this country.

I'm glad that the fallen are still cared for, loved, and respected by their country and the people who live within. May they rest in peace with the love of God and may light perpetual shine upon them. Semper Fi from a Marine in the USA.
  • I live about 30 k from Trenton, the Airforce base where our fallen heroes came home to. Every time one of the huge Hercules plains flew thundering over my house, seeming close enough to touch, I knew who was on board and said a prayer for the fallen soldiers and their families, cried with them. Hercules still fly over my house, but I’m glad that duty is done. Let’s pray we don’t have to lose any more, nor to the wave our flags on the bridges over the Highway of Heroes. I tear up every time I hear the Trewes song too!

I remember driving down the 401 when cpl cirillo was killed at the war monument in Ottawa. I was driving back home to Petawawa from Barrie and I cried the whole way home when seeing people on the over passes. Was so happy to hug my husband when I got home ❤️ this is beautiful.
  • That Highway of Heroes song brings back memories for when it was Remembrance Day at my school. We'd always have an assembly to remember those who dies fighting. Lest we forget!

Thank you all for fighting for us we will not forget
  • So sad 😭😭😭😭. Thank you for your service. Rest In Peace all of you ❤️
  • Now that you know about our highway of heroes listening to the Trews - Please look up and watch the youtube video done by the DURHAM POLICE on this very subject in June 2010 with a BEAUTIFUL rendition of a different Highway of Heroes song by BOB REID. Very emotional. While the Trews rendition is sung from the perspective of the fallen soldier, this song by REID is sung from the perspective of those of us Canadians who show up over and over again on the bridges and roadsides along the Highway of Heroes. So beautiful. You will love his song. I promise you.
  • My son was supposed to be posted in Afghanistan 2011,but thanks to a minority government he wasn't. Needless to say his mother and I were relieved that he stayed out of that mess. It's pretty rare for someone who witnesses or participates in war to not be damaged in some way, I am very pleased that my son stayed home

Our veterans and honoured dead and missing have always been respected by our FREE citizens but totally ignored by our ignorant politicians who have NEVER served.....!

Thank you for this. Not to minimize the loss of life, but I used this video to bring attention to all of those who are working during this covid crap and hopefully to also honor those who are out there keeping everything going and trying to keep things normal. I think just in this time, they are as valuable to us as our fallen military heroes. Our nurses, doctors, grocery workers, gas station/ convenience workers... they all need to be acknowledged
