Old Mill Site Rock House Road Goshen CT

Abandoned 1800's Mill Site In Goshen Connecticut. The Hills of New England are littered with the remains of once prosperous Mill Rural Sites. Very few visitors frequent these area now. Any stream with reasonable flow and an elevation drop will likely have remains of stone abutments and old foundations present. With the passage of time, many of the smaller ones are barely visible to the casual passerby. This one is a classic example of how you could make a small stream work best. On the top of the hill is the impoundment dam where water would be stored for timed release when needed. This area was abandoned just after the Civil War. This stream continues on to the Torrington Water Company Reservoir just West of John Minneto State Park. Excess flow joins up with the West Branch of the Naugatuck River. Footage at the end was captured with a Mavic Air Drone flying in tight quarters.
