Tires are a really hot topic with Tesla drivers and people thinking about buying a Tesla for the first time. We get asked tire-related questions about our Tesla ownership experience all the time.

And this video is a real interesting one about a lesson we learned about the Tesla Model X manual and the touchscreen MCU in our Tesla. Which includes a manual by the way that is updated by over-the-air software updates!!!

So we have literally never (like ever) rotated our tires before in our 2016 P90D Tesla Model X. But at 133K miles we did this for the first time. Why did we wait so long to rotate the tires on our 2016 Tesla Model X? Well, watch this video to find out!!!

And if you watch this video until the very end you will get a little treat.

Have you ever had a flat tire in your Tesla? Do you keep Tesla pucks in your vehicle? Watch this video to learn all about our recent experience with having a flat tire in our Tesla and not having the Tesla pucks with us at the time. Hi to the Tesla Team, once again. Due to my inherent laziness, I discovered that if I timed my regular car change every 3 or 4 years, I never have to buy tyres. I just buy a new car! Problem solved. (LOL) But yes, I did get my cars regularly rotated on my ICE vehicles yearly and the Garage did whichever switch was required. (Allowing for differences in sizes for front and back) But in New Zealand, the average person only drives around 3-5,000 miles (5-8,000 km) per year. As lovely Tesla cancelled my order, after waiting for 2 years, for Model S Plaid (Right hand Drive versions now not made) I have yet to experience a Tesla tyre rotation. We still don't know if RHD for the Cybertruck will be available. (sob, sob) Cheers to the whole family.

Love the updated manual in the MCU! Great learning.

Ebike is absolutely correct. My ‘21 model S has wider tires on rear and these OEM tires have a fixed direction. Therefore, I have no way to rotate them. As tires wear, they get out of balance. About every 12-15K mi, I do a re-balance. If you feel any shaking in wheel or seat at highway speeds, get a wheel balance.
  • 35 days owned 2016 Tesla model x will keep in touch to compare notes I thought model x tires could not be rotated

You two are hilarious! 😂And, you're informative. Thanks! Lotsa love to all from Toronto ❤❤❤

Thanks & very curious... Since the front & back tires are different sizes & typically directional they technically can't be rotated. Did you put on all the same size when you had them replaced? That would be the only way I could think this would be possible. PS: Great Taco blanket!
  • As Tesla technician , I see lot of wear out , uneven tire. Highly recommend alignment as well cause tire is expensive. All can be fixed, look result for the camber. I believe the front camber is adjustable but if the rear is more negative , unfortunately you have to find the aftermarket solution

there are still shops that don't have the Tesla jack pads?(pucks) I know my local Costco, Sam's Club and Tire Kingdom all have them. Also, a local tow truck driver told me that he carried them as well. I longer use AAA, so I keep his number just in case. He only charges $40 to come out and replace a flat tire. $50 for a flatbed tow to any shop in the city.
  • What does signature stand for on Tesla model x Also in your next video if you could give the tire model that you got for your front and back tires Bought my Tesla model x 2016 38 days ago but the tires look like they will need to be replaced soon.
