Replaced all three belts, lubricated per service manual, front panel lamps changed out to LED with resistors that are correct value 1/2watt 330ohm, strobe lamp is rock steady for 33-1/3 and 45 rpm. Dust cover has been polished but could use some additional polishing to make it perfect. Plays and tracks very well, end of record pickup is near perfect with even short run out albums.

  • Hi, I'm Roberto, I also have two st-7, one st-8 and one sl-8e. It's amazing st-8 I never sell it !!!!!!!!!!! I had to make the roll all over again in the two st-7, now I've put it in place and go astonished. In the 8th I had to rebuild the suspension Thank you Roberto
  • When you speak of "restored", I'd like to know what defect(s) required repair and what action you had to take for restoration. I acquired an ST-8 about 10 years ago which had been in storage since 1985. I had to go through it, but all of the basic functions worked fine. I just did basic service and belt replacement. More recently, it developed the defect of speed "wandering", meaning that once started in play, the speed begins to slowly shift faster, then slower than, normal. The longer you play, the wider the swings. It's not a mechnical problem. Before I dive into the electrics of the motor speed controller, have you any ideas?
