Thanks to everyone for taking the time to check this one out with me. Linkin Park was a super important band to me as a kid, teenager, and even now, and there was no way I was missing this one. Due to copyrights, this video is pending a block, so I don't know how long it will remain up, but I hope you enjoy it!

It's extremely painful to know that Chester has been telling us in his texts for many years how bad he is and in the end nobody could help him. As someone who suffers from depression himself, this realization just hurts so incredibly man.

When he says “I’m tired…” that hits hard. People who don’t understand it have no idea how exhausting it is dealing with mental illness. I always had people tell me “you are being negative.” “you should try to be happy.” “Go out on a walk and cheer up.” Or my favorite “you just like being miserable.” As if it’s a physical choice to suffer depression and struggle with life. Ppl just don’t get how exhausting it is to be this way. The weight you carry each day is a lot.

everybody knew what he was going through. thanks to Mike, and the others he went to therapy. but the thing is, nobody can save you when you're as deep down in the dark as he was.

Linkin park saved thousands of lives. People going through what Chester was, identifying with what he was saying and finding a way out. All I can say is thank you linkin park for giving me the friends I had because you helped them stay around.

I've cried almost every time I've heard this song since the release. The lyrics are so damn powerful! Chesters ability to scream pure emotion gets to me so hard knowing how things ended for him. I will never be able to forget about this incredible talent, his soul and bright smile! It's so hard to listen to Chesters voice but also it's so fucking good! I love this song!

This band was the start of my rock/metal career. Chesters passing hit me so hard. As someone struggling with mental health myself, their songs have always been important to me. LP releasing Lost, the songs vibe, the lyrics, it all took me back, the song hit me hard. It's this music that gets me through life, as music isn't just music, but music is a huge relief, and a massive part of my life

Hybrid Theory has always been an album I listened to a lot over the years. Songs like Runaway, Points Of Authority and One Step Closer are always part of my playlist. 😃

according to Mike, the only reason it didn't make it onto 'Meteora' back then was bc it was too similar in message, energy, and vibe as 'Numb' so they went w/ 'Numb' and shelved this but decided to dig into their archives and pull it out for the 20y anniversary of 'Meteora' and did a re-release w/ this song on it. Also, according to Mike, they didn't do anything to it as far as remixing or remastering or anything like that before dropping it so how we're hearing it today is exactly how it sounded when they first laid the track back in '03. And yeah, a lot of LP's songs are really sad in hindsight. I mean, just listen to 'Given Up.' He was literally screaming for help in that one

As for the art, the studio that made the anime used in the video (White Rabbit) fed their own animation to an AI and then took music videos and live performance videos from Linkin Park. The AI then rendered those videos in the studio's art style. Lots of Linkin Park in Texas in that video.

The lyrics have taken on new meaning knowing what happened. It is heartbreaking. I miss that amazing voice. What a loss. RIP Chester 💔

You hit it perfectly that we attach our emotions to music and oftentimes forget about the person creating it and the lyrics behind them. As a suicide attempt and loss survivor and someone who works in suicide prevention, it can be hard sometimes see all of the signs and symptoms but it is possible and we can be there for people and help them out sometimes by just listening. You are not alone and remember that you'll never walk alone.

Chester was extremely open with his problems. I have those problems to. When he said his head was a bad neighborhood i broke down and cried because that's how I always explained how my mind was.

'But I'm tired, I will always be afraid, of the damage I've received'... that's the part that breaks me. Knowing the guy went thru some awful abuse. Dealing with that... those lyrics are so obviously talking about that time... his voice is so pure in that part too. 😪 listening to this as a teen would have been epic. Now it hurts.

When I heard of Chester's passing, I immediately went to my Spotify and listened to Linkin Park's music, and it occurred to me that when really listening to the lyrics, that they did not come from a happy mind, more like a tortured mind. Normally, celebrity deaths don't really impact me, but Chester's passing really hit me hard. Maybe it was because I was really discovering my own depression, or more precisely, admitting that I had a problem with depression.

To address some comments made in the video. This song was stated to have not been released because it fit the same energy of Numb- that being an anthemic song and they didn’t want to bloat the album with another so they had to pick between having Lost or Numb in the album. The animation was not entirely done by Ai, and the parts that were AI was specifically trained using clips from the original animation in this video and their other music videos. This is actually a new mix for the 20th anniversary, there will be another released that was the original finished mix from 2003. There is also a small snippet floating around for years of an alternate version of this song with different lyrics that eventually got scrapped. I think it was called “Swallow my pride”
