This channel needs to be preserved in the Library of Congress. These are the best music interviews ever.

Sometimes you just have to like BEFORE watching the video.

When Steve Vai tells Rick Beato "you're doing great work" - he is just echoing millions, but gosh, what a vote of confidence !! Rick ❤❤❤

one thing evident, to me, is how intelligent people allow another to fully express a thought. whether it's 2, 5 or 10 minutes. take note of this and watch how people constantly cut you off in conversations.

I was once drunk in KC and walked into the Grand Emporium I think it was. Joe was up on stage playing a solo. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a guy throw a bottle at him. He dodged it nicely. I couldn’t believe anyone would throw something at any musician let alone one of the best. The bouncer grabbed me and began to throw me out. While Joe kept playing with his left hand. He basically did sign language with his right hand to the bouncer. Told him no not him that guy beside him. All with one hand while still playing. It was amazing. The bouncer apologized. Shook my hand and so did Joe after the show. Cool dude. Very humble even though he’s probably earned the right to be arrogant. Class act. On and off the stage.

Rick single-handedly documenting music history over here. Love it

Honestly I think beatos channel may be the best place to ever exist for fans of music related content.
  • You’ve interviewed EVERYONE, but this was hands down, easily my favorite. Of course, it stars 2 of the greatest guitarist of our generation, but also such cool, humble and down to earth dudes that anyone would want to hang with. Didn’t want it to end…

Joe Satriani's mother was my 4th-grade teacher. She was as amazing a teacher as he is guitar player.

Rick Beato’s contribution to the legacy of legendary musicians is priceless! Vai and Satriani together—student and teacher—now equals in the annals of guitar gods.
  • All I can say is WOW! Rick interviewing Steve Vai and Joe Satriani a few miles away from my house in Decatur … Rick is the GOAT. Side note: I’m one of Rick’s “early” subscribers … maybe sub 250K. I’m a 54 year old lifelong music fan, and as of a few weeks ago a non-musician. Just an hour ago, I handed off my first instrument, an Epiphone(Gibson) EB-3 bass, to Dave Onorato for set up. Life is Good! 🎉

I know Joe is known for Surfing but I'll die on the hill that Crystal Planet is his greatest album ever, and one of the top guitar albums of all time. Every song, every chord, every solo and sound is darn near perfect. Crystal Planet, Love Thing, Lights of Heaven, Rasberry Jam, etc., all so so good. Vai's Passion and Warfare is up there with Crystal Planet too.

Steve and Joe acknowledging your work at the end was the most kindest and humble present thing to do, Rick you are an international treasure !

The final thank you's at the end are really moving. Jimi Hendrix playing, as Steve Vai said (around 34:20), was a "voice of God". I was at a workshop where engineer Eddie Kramer played Jimi's guitar solo from All Along the Watchtower, with everything else muted. The sound and energy from his guitar playing was so profound – everyone just sat in silence for a few moments afterward.

Two old friends who have known each other for over 50 years and are such incredible musicians swapping views, experiences, and ideas and you give us 47 minutes! This had better be part 1 of a 10-part series!

2024 is turning out to be a tremendous year for Rick Beato. Simply awesome. Here, two contemporary legends.
  • @BassByTheBay
Man, ngl... when Steve started praising Rick at the end of the interview, it got me teary 😭. The positivity that comes from these interviews just fills me with joy. ❤
  • @tkreitler
Joe and Steve seem so content with their lives right now. I sense a real love and appreciation for each other.
  • @andrewg.38
Amazing to see a master like Steve Vai still humble and acknowledging Joe's crucial tutelage from years ago
  • @HillcrestGames
Steve is right. Beato has a huge myriad of skills and experience necessary to create what I think might be the ultimate channel for musicians and particularly guitar players. We're all very lucky that it came together like this.
