The hero of the Wild is really the most extreme version of Link. He's both the most fearsome, with the arsenal and skill to destroy armies of foes, and the silliest, with the reccurent habit to hurt himself, running naked holding nothing but a stick and disgusting food in the mouth

That ending sequence with music as Link completely deletes a Guardian, sends it flying, and walks without looking at the explosion is just SUBLIME

Theory: All of the champions have a unique ability, right? And Link is a champion too. So his ability is bullet time, allowing him to do flurry rushes and the impossible arrow shots. Which makes sense, since the Hero is often at least somewhat associated with time.
