Completely new and very much improved over my previous version!

This is a re-cut, extended and very different version of the wonderful Sigur Ros tour movie Heima. A unique selection and combination of all available audio-visual material connected to this film. The result is full, uninterupted performaces, beautiful landscapes and not much more. Straight to the core. No interviews, voice-overs or other distracting stuff. I've also rearranged the track order and cut out more than a few segments completely. All to my taste. This edit is very much "me", for better or worse.

The aim has been to get to the point and focus on the music. More timeless if you will. Make it a film out of the tour, rather than about it. Less a teaser-trailer for something and more a chance to, in some small way, experince it as it was. This way I hope my version can serve as a companion piece to the original.

Most things left out are both good and interesting but without a place in this particular version. Without the interviews you don´t get the feeling of meeting the band and getting to know them. Instead there is a much more impersonal but closer fly-on-the-wall perspective, witch I for one, think is more rewarding in the long run. Less info - more magic...

I´ve touched pretty much every part of the film in one way or another so a lot has changed. Not only concerning the interviews, voice overs etc. But also things that I (in my humble opinion) find... problematic... More than a few jump- and axial cuts removed. I won´t get into details about that but feel free to ask questions and I will try to remember what I've done... If you know this film by heart you will of couse notice the crazy amount of tweaks. My set goal has been to make a newcomer think everything is totaly natural and normal.

This new cut is made completely from scratch and is an improvement over the 2018 version on all accounts. If you liked the previous one I dare to say you will absolutely adore this one. (You will be hard pressed to find a more complete experince of Popplagið from this tour I think...)

Enjoy /// spiderbite

My go to watch for any mood. Documentary version has been watched at least once a week since I’ve been on YouTube and now this version gets watched 3 times a week also. Greatest band to ever live and I don’t know even know what they’re saying, I don’t have to ❤

I watched Heima for the first time back in 2011. After watching it I was so determined to go to Iceland one day. 3 years later I fulfilled my promise, with Sigur Ros soundtracking my trip of course :') Thank you for this incredible work!

The version of Von in this gives me chills every single time I watch/ hear it. One of the most underrated Sigur Ros songs.

My film school teacher Alan Calzatti worked on Heima. It was more like a nature documentary and he and Dean DeBlois were called in to fix it. I think thewy did a remarkable job with what they were given. I still remember getting to watch them do telecining at Rhino, and getting to see the film before it was released. As a massive Sigur Rós fan this was a huge deal! There was also a screening outside in Hollywood he was a part of. Very good times. Rest In peace Alan

This video is amazing, so this band is. I still remember how I knew them. It was in Sónar Festival (Barcelona) around 2002-3. I just finished of listening my favorite band of the night and in my way to another stage I suddenly listened something strange, a kind of music I have never heard before. I turned my head and saw what it looked like a string quartet, a guy in the piano, a drum, electric guitar, etc... (1:02:40) I was like "whats going on here", the ambient was very noisy, I barely could listen properly the song at that point, but nevertheless some force grab my atention enough to stay there. Next thing I know there was another guy next to me, with amazed face looking at them. We both look each other and I asked him "do you know them?". "No", he said "but they sound cool isn´t?" We started to speak a little bit, and he invited me to some weed. We really felt the need to listen the music properly so we moved closer of stage. Once there, I started to feel that particular kind of magic Sigur Ross can achiev with their music. I stood hipnotized until the end. I said goodbye to my unknown friend, knowing we had a super enjoyable moment together, and while comming back home late at night, I realized I never knew the name of that band. Some days after, I could know who they are. It´s not easy a unknown band wins you over in the middle of a multi band festival, with such a caothgic ambient, but they did because they are magicals.

I love so much the Olsen Olsen version in Heima. At 37:20, each time at this moment and for the rest of the song, it's goosebump!
  • @dl1391

I remember seeing this at the Shetland Film Festival in 2009. It was a free late night showing. Absolutely amazing!
  • @MegaCirse
There is a dominant theme at the heart of Sigur Ros's work, which can only be translated by the language of sounds: that of time which advances inexorably, gradually altering beings and things in its path, towards death and oblivion 🤫
