The one and only 21 Savage sits down with Shannon Sharpe in this episode of Club Shay Shay, and it's a rollercoaster of realness with the Atlanta rapper. 21 goes into what it was like being born in London and growing up in Atlanta, exposing the trials and tribulations that eventually led to him becoming a global music superstar. Then, 21 Savage spares no details as he shares the chilling story of surviving six gunshot wounds and witnessing his friend's murder. The harsh realities of the rap game aren’t exclusive to 21’s experiences as he delves into the death of Memphis’ Yo Gotti’s brother. Then, The Saint Laurent Don delves into the financial side of the industry, comparing rap money to NFL earnings and shedding light on the frugality of T.I., who almost gave 21 a million dollars but didn’t, which turned out to be a blessing in the long run. But the buck doesn’t stop there, as 21 responds to Snoop Dogg's streaming insights and shares that there is good money to be made from streaming, which has compelled him to consider selling his catalog as Future did. 21 Savage covers it all; from claiming the title of the best rapper in his XXL Freshman Class, to giving his picks for the Mt. Rushmore of R&B artists and the best rappers from Atlanta, and expressing his willingness to drop a collab album with J. Cole. It's a candid, no-filter conversation that gives fans an unfiltered glimpse into the life and opinions of the Atlanta rap legend.

The fact 21 Savage was willing to ask what a word means in the middle of a convo that’s going to be seen my millions of people is a sign of humility so many people lack, can’t ever stop being willing to learn
  • @sturn001
One thing that stands out in this interview is that 21 isn't ruled by his ego, and that's why he's successful. You gained a fan bro. 💪🏾
  • @missblunco
Shannon is never eager to ask the next question, he truly lets the interview flow. I didn’t want the interview to end!
  • @captaincobra522
This man really made a safe platform for amazing interviews
  • @moniqueburke877
21 was trying to fight back tears, you could hear it in his voice . Real talk, the convos about his dad triggered him deep and I'm glad Shannon was able to allow him to be vulnerable and guide him through the conversation from an elder's perspective and still allow him to feel through it. THIS is community and this is BEAUTIFUL. Big up Shannon and 21 Savage.

I'm a truck driver and I listened to this for my 2 hour trip. And when I got to my destination I got assigned door 21 on the east side docks lol. Much respect to his success and how he carries himself 🫡💪🏾
  • @TorTheWeirdo
I respect him for saying “I think I was just bad.” Sometimes it really don’t be an excuse, we choose to do what we do. I respect him.

I hope 21 has a good therapist to work through all of his trauma. This definitely was a safe space to share and it takes a lot of courage to share something painful to millions of people.
  • @Therealmarkmack
This wasn’t a interview this was a therapy and healing session much love to Shannon Sharpe for building a safe platform 💯
  • @lenevee4925
21 is so chill and comfortable in this interview; it's like you're talking to one of your favorite cousins. His childhood stories are so relatable.

Why do I like 21 Savage all of a sudden? This interview was great, and helps old people like me understand this guy. Shay Shay out here taking over the urban interview game, he lets his guest finish their thoughts unlike Vlad and he’s not arguing with them constantly.
  • @Tim_Black
Shannon Sharpe has created a space for light-hearted, yet deep conversations. That is no easy feat. Salute!
  • @resonatingtruths
This is a televised therapy session. I’m glad Savage was able to freely express himself and open up about some of these things.
  • @RockSolid1023
After this interview, 21 Savage should absolutely make a movie about his life. Just because he’s not sitting up there like a shiny puppet does not mean his story does not resonate with people. Im more interested than ever to learn about 21 Savage. Thank Unc, another great interview.
  • The way my heart felt about the interview was, an uncle speaking to his now, adult nephew, Shannon really gave him, valued life lessons, education, relationships advice, a different outlook on life from past unaddressed trauma. ....UNCLE SHAY!
  • As a professional clinician, this is one of the best interviews I’ve seen. a lot of healing, therapeutic approaches, and vulnerability going on. big shout out to the two of you for capturing this and putting it out to THE WORLD
  • @shawnsmiley5830
It's really nice when the host doesn't over talk or constantly cut off their guests... u actually give them time to talk...excellent job.. that is very major ...
  • @DAREALCOUP
Shannon u bigger than you realize boss. You a whole professional unlicensed therapist out here lol. I truly believe this was therapeutic and needed for 21. You provide a safe space that a lot of interviewers don't. It's almost more like you providing us with live, 1st person autobiographies rather than just a interview.
  • @NickYardy
Shout out Shannon these interviews 🔥
