Shehla Rashid is an activist, researcher, and academician who gained prominence in 2016 for advocating the release of then JNU President Kanhaiya Kumar, arrested on sedition charges. Recently, she made headlines for a notable shift, applauding the central government for the 'improved' situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Previously critical of human rights issues in Jammu and Kashmir, Shehla faced sedition charges over tweets against Indian army. She served as the vice-president of JNUSU in 2015–16, was a member of AISA, and completed her graduation from NIT Srinagar.

In the latest ANI Podcast with Smita Prakash, Shehla Rashid commends the Modi government and J&K L-G Sinha for the 'improved situation' in the valley. She also discusses what changed her perspective on the central government and why she altered her stance on human rights in Jammu and Kashmir. She also delves into her brief foray into mainstream politics with the party founded by Shah Faesal in March 2019, which she left within six months.

  • Kashmiri Muslims will earn my respect when they welcome back Kashmiri Brahmins and restore their properties
  • I CANNOT believe this. Trusting Shehla Rashid would be like trusting the knife stuck in your back.
  • @silvert00th71
Modi ji be like: I need new Enemy, the old ones became my fans.😂
  • Kashmiri Pandits were referred by her as 'migrant pandits'... No they are not...the are the original inhabitants of Kashmir...
  • The short summary of this whole podcast is "Well I stood for Kashmirs independence coz I thought bjp would not be able to get away with the abrogation. But now that they successfully have, and we have become officially Indian, I'm looking for job opportunities coz my previous political activism has no career progression, and is no longer popular or vote garnering. So yea I now say good things about Amit Shah and Modi. But I'm every bit a closet jihadi"😅😅😅

If White-washing oneself has to be a skill then this podcast should be the lecture & the degree one should go for 😂

People change! I was also a radical leftist and an Atheist a few years back. But now my views have diametrically changed.
  • @aman_skl
I can relate with her. As I started consuming political content, I became a hater of modi and BJP all thanks to dhruv rather and akash banerjee's videos. But gradually I understand that they are just manipulating the viewers and they themselves are being just biased and spread hate.

When I was studying, we had these SFI student leaders who were all fire and fury. But after graduation they got jobs and settled down.
  • Ms. Rashid is a person who uses religion, rationalism, science all for convenience to veil her true personality
  • Multiple times she said "Kashmiri pandits left". Half literate about her own state's history and calls herself an academic. What a joke
  • @ishikinokami1575
At 1:57:15 she calls Kashmiri Pandits 'migrants'. Kashmiri Pandits ARE INDEGENOUS! This just proves that she has not changed. Had she read some books or history, she wouldn't have held onto this Islam!st perception of Pandits being migrants
  • I would love to see Amit Shah on podcast. His life's journey should be known to all.
  • @Tatugusar1111
"Don't judge people by speech but by their actions". Time will say how much she n ex kashmiri ias shah faesal love bharat mata.🙏

You cheat me once, shame on you You cheat me twice shame on me. Forgive but don't forget.
  • @abhisheks3412
She avoided the Nupur sharma question clearly. One a jerk, always a jerk? Maybe.
  • @ramjisingh6227
Traitors will enjoy all facilities, but will not vote Modi
  • @PGR6337
"Doodh ka jalaa hua, chaanjh bhi phook ke peeta hai". (Once burned, twice shy) Keeping in line with this thought, we Hindus are always too skeptical to trust the islamists. We now know, they might as well be doing the quranic concept called "Al Taqiya" (Surah An-Nahl 16:106). Although soft and trusting in nature, we Hindus have been pushed to the wall by these islamists, who have historically mistreated us.
  • @ashishmodi15
The core issue either in Gaza or Kashmir is, Islam. First it's making troubles for non-muslim and then for muslims themselves. But it's not easy to understand until the damage is done.
  • @pahdev6761
Thats why mahabharata should be taught in all schools....she is blaming all her childhood experiences & separatists for her thought and perception.. Karn said to krishna:from my childhood, i faced many issues , whats wrong in taking side now with the person (dhuryodana) who helped me , Krishna: i also born in jail and suffered lot.....so no matter what we face in life, Dharma says, Take side of a right side & thats what life always test us to stand dharma....
