To me the most difficult match I've seen Spain playing. The intensity was something else, derby like. Watching France Portugal afterwards felt like going from Mad Max: Fury Road to a random sunday soap opera.

This game was the true finals. I said it before the match, whoever gets this is going to win the whole tournament. No other team can compete with Spain or Germany.
  • The ref was just an absolute disaster. No consistency in his decision making at all.
  • @maxwellsdemon10
Honestly, I'm just glad that a match that was considered to be the real final did actually deliver. It was a close match an absolute nail biter and a good showing of both teams.
  • It was simply unlucky for Germany that the two best teams in the tournament had to meet so early. One had to lose, and Germany was better overall. There is no reason to diminish what Nagelsmann managed to build up since he took over. If the team can keep this up, Germany is an obvious favorite for WM 2026.

A thriller with a British villain, maybe...
  • @bjornopitz6561
I'd be gutted if Spain don't win the whole thing now. France and England are playing anti-football.
  • We have nothing to blame. Germany was fighting till the end in a great game. But the luck wasn't at our side. So congrats to Spain.😏
  • @RedForDanger.
i was on the edge of my seat for this game and nearly fell asleep during the next

English referees at it again. nothing new. Even if it does seem like he's favouring Spain he did let Kroos go without a card at all against him in the first half until the 2nd half. Kroos should've got at least a yellow card in the first half.
  • Lets be honest this should have been finale. I doubt either of remaining teams will pose as much threat to Spaniards as Germans were

I loved the game. Also I couldn't agree more with your conclusion. As a Germany fan I'm somewhat sad, but our team restored the faith in our national team and I'm exited to what the future holds (Especially with Kroos and Müller retiring) [edit: Neuer seems to not be retiring and plans to play in WC 2026].

This was a high end match with a low end referee. Not only that he didn't check the handball, he gave 16 (!!!!) cards in one match. Can't remember to see such a lot of cards in a match between high level teams. yes, the first 15 minutes the Germans played much to hard. Never seen this from Germany before.

The moment Germany started to struggle counterpressing the wide areas. It was only the next minute away before Spain tries the centre and scored by Mikel Merino.

Great match; both teams gave it their all. Nagelsmann revived the national team and is bringing on the next generation. Frank Leboeuf thought he should have rested the older players in the Switzerland game. The older players did look tired. But congrats to Spain.

Why did De La Fuente take Lamine and Nico after going 1-0 up when you know now the Germans will push numbers forward so you will have room to destroy them on the counter. He almost gifted the game to Germany with his substitutions. I hope he has learnt from that. Dani Olmo was a beast this game, he deserves huge credit.
  • Absolutely nail-biter game. It was one of the best games after a round of 16 in this euro. I hope spain and Netherland win. It will snooze fest if the final is between France and England.
  • It absolutely was Spain is spectacular, by far the best team at Euros But Germany had them pinned down for the second part of the game - if they had their chances converted, they’d be ahead Absolutely the best game I’ve seen in this tournament

Fans of Kroos are still fans of Kroos. Those who hate him because of this match don't know him.
