Fun fact: In the 80's, Marvel was ahead of DC in the comic industry. DC was going bankrupt so in a last ditch effort to save themselves, they offered the rights to every single character from DC to Marvel, including Superman, Batman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Brainiac, Joker, and even Aquaman. It was rejected at the last minute because Marvel would then dominate the industry and have nobody to compete with other than IDW, who wasn't very competitive with Marvel and DC.

I wonder since it's Charles Xavier raising him, he can pretty much figure out a way for Kal-El to overcome the weakness to kryptonite, so he could be that much powerful maybe he could develop a device with the power of a quasar star to make Superman more powerful but also it could get a rid of the weaknesses to kryptonite.
