In Korea, there’s something like tradition to watch this movie in schools. Great memories

This movie was fucking awesome! I laughed, cried, just had a great time. Thanks for voting for it everyone!

The cultural impact this movie had on Asia at large was insane. To the point where my childhood can be categorically sectioned into "Before 3 Idiots" and "After 3 Idiots" 😭 So happy you guys finally watched it!

The crowd of extras during the Teacher’s Day speech were not given any context for what Chatur would say, and their laughter was genuine every time they recorded it.
  • That “Give me some sunshine, give me some rain” was how so many students coped throughout their lives since
  • @johnnysparkle
According to Omi Vaidya, the scene where Chatur confronts Rancho and Farhan about changing his speech demanded a level of anger in his performance that he did not feel he could muster because the actors were too nice to even pretend to be mad at, so he effectively isolated himself in a hotel room for three days and told everyone to not call him so he could pretend that they were purposefully excluding him whenever he heard about their group activities, building up an imaginary resentment against them for that scene. Thankfully, the scene was recorded on his 28th birthday and the crew brought a cake up to him when they were done shooting.
  • Never in my fucking life would I have expected Blind Wave to react to this. Absolute staple of my childhood, I'm so excited to get into this and see y'all experience it!
  • @johnnysparkle
Most of Chatur’s mispronunciations of Hindi words are genuine mispronunciations because his actor Omi Vaidya similarly lacks fluency in the Hindi language compared to Marathi, and he needed his lines to be written in Roman letters. According to him, the crew had the rule, “Nobody correct this man, or you’re fired,” because they found it so funny.

Taare Zameen Par has to be the next indian movie you guys watch. Its got the actor that plays Rancho in this and is such a beautiful story
  • This was the first Indian movie I ever watched, my friend just randomly showed it to me and I never thought a three hour long indian comedy would be one of my favourites, but it is. Every time we held a massive party and had to clean up the day after, we put this on in the background. There's so many memorable lines to recite and songs to sing along to, it's just such a good time.

No freaking way! I have followed the channel for years now and this was a fever dream …..can believe this actually happened.
  • One of the best plot twist I ever watched in my childhood was his "real name"😂
  • @darcypenn6702
One of the first Indian films I ever watched! ❤ from Australia 🇦🇺
  • Watched this and Taare Zameen Par back in high school and both really stuck with me with how meaningful they are. Thank you for reacting to this and thanks to all who voted for it. Cheers! 🎉

All of South Asia loves this movie

I don't watch too many Indian movies but I think this has remained my favorite after all these years. It can make you laugh, then cry, and then laugh again in the span of 10 minutes. But it's also inspirational, coming from an Engineering student that quit. Which is why it stuck with me.

Btw a fact is that a LOT of kids used to commit game end because they didn't want to do it or way too much pressure was put on them by teachers but also parents. A lot of kids in India died doing this exact thing, the stats are scary

What boggles the mind is that the director rajkumar hirani is so damn good in creating these iconic comical characters so consistently in every film of his unlike many directors in world. Most characters from all of his film except the latest one have been made meme of a lot of times. Phoebe waller- Bridge had once said "unarm the audience with comedy and then punch them in the guts with drama"...that's exactly what he does.
