I work as a deputy sheriff and we have a couple small towns in my county that don't have a town cop. One night I responded to call of a drunk man trying to break into his ex-girlfriends house. Long story short, I ended up getting in a fight with the suspect on the side of the road at 1 a.m. and the suspect tried to take my gun. A lifted truck just happened to be driving by when they suddenly stopped and three guys got out and pinned the suspect down while I cuffed him. Then, they just hopped in their truck and left. No one needed to document the incident on camera. They didn't have to think about what was the right thing to do. They saw a need and met it. Love my community.

I would have never even heard of this song if people hadn't been upset about it.

Interestingly, the media backlash is turning out to be the best thing that could have happened to promote this song and bring a wider audience to it.

I am A 56yr. old White man, I spent many years in EMS and I can tell you that no matter the color of one skin we all bleed the same blood. We are all brothers and sisters in this world, I live in a small town and would gladly stand shoulder-to-shoulder with all who want to protect our Freedom and communities.

My father was in the Marine Corp for 31 years. There were at times that he was gone for long times and then short times. I missed him and so did my siblings and mother. To this day, I still have his letters and am so proud of him. My prayers go out to all veterans and their families. You have my respect and thanks.

I'm not from America but i'm originally from a small town, so I completely understand the feeling . In small towns we have each other's backs !

I am pretty sure the message he is trying to convey is that the things that people get away with in major cities would not be tolerated in a small town.

I’m a black woman who wouldn’t have to worry about “trying it in a small town” bc that crap never would’ve gotten past my house!! My grandparents, mom, dad, uncles, aunts, minister, & pretty much any adult in our community would’ve straightened me out real quick!!!

Also, I have a huge extended family of men who hunted, fished, went to church, & worked hard to keep a roof over their family’s head & food on the table!! We were protected by God & Smith n Wesson!! Try us @ your peril!!
