Glad you mentioned the Loox thing, glad to see someone getting that information correct. Although I doubt anyone actually did it - it would require an unbelievable amount of time to get to LV20, since each Pick On only gives 1 extra EXP. (You would need to do 90000+ acts, each of which is at least 4-5 seconds) By normal means (what you do in this video), LV17 is indeed the highest that can be reached in a Neutral run. Using glitches to infinitely re-fight some monsters does let you get to 18 - 20, but outside of that LV18 is essentially unused which is kind of wild! Good video, glad it's getting attention. 💜

undyne the undying watching how some random child murders her entire race except for an obese skeleton, a yellow otaku reptile and two random guards right after she sacrificed herself in the name of the monster race

Alphys is the most disgusting character in the game. She evacuates the monsters, preventing us from reaching LV 25(((

Canonically, Sans says, in a neutral route where you get LV 10 and reload in the judgement hall, that LV 20 is the maximum

Imagine being Madjick in this run. You confront the human that has been slaughtering monsters in a desparate attempt to save your people. The human kills your ally, and then just bails. Then the human repeats this, over 30 times, murdering your friends and inexplicably just completely ignoring you.

So funny having the end of alphys soul crushing failed no mercy run dialogue getting cut off by the uplifting hype youtuber music lol. Neat challenge idea.

I remember someone saying a really long time ago that lv 17 is the highest that can be achieved in a neutral run, and I always wondered how true that was. It's a gratifying feeling to see someone perform such a run themselves.

Human I remember your highest EXP in Undertales
  • @axorandom
Fun fact: this isn’t actually how you can get the highest Attack stat in the game (well, on a neutral route). Basically, you recreate what happens here, but spare Glad Dummy and buy Temmie Armor.

I tried doing this exact thing in Undertale Yellow! I didn't have the patience or information for it though, as it uses different encounter rules then Undertale. Notably, being on a genocide route in that game means less monsters show up per area, so the optimal thing to do (I think) is to abort the route in Snowdin. Maybe you should try to do it! This video was very well made, and any more love for Undertale Yellow is always good.

You said in the video that Toriel does not contribute to the Ruins death counter. However, that isn't entirely accurate. A glitch in the game lets you slay only 19 enemies in the Ruins, then fight Neutral Route Toriel and still be on the Genocide Route, implying that she does count toward the Ruins death counter. This information will be useful when you do the "Lowest EXP Possible in Undertale's Genocide Route" video.

Really good video! I did this run myself a while back, and you can actually get a slightly higher amount of EXP. The “don’t pick on” option for Loox subtracts the amount of total EXP you would get. You can optimize this to be one off of the EXP cap and get the highest EXP amount, similar to going over the kill count. This allows each Loox to give 24 EXP. This would give 42 extra EXP, which still isn’t enough to reach LV 18, but it is theoretically the highest possible EXP.
  • Alphys in aborted geno: I should have killed you Alphys when I kill undyne but spare monster kid: Suddenly not watching
  • @Tmitric
Sans: makes pun Papyrus: watches this video

I think I caught a mistake. It makes more sense to spare or flee from Snowdrake at first, THEN kill 15 Glydes. Afterward, you can get the encounter with Snowdrake, Ice Cap and Jerry, and kill Snowdrake there. The extra Ice Cap and Jerry would add 26 EXP to the total, making the final EXP a nice even 23500. EDIT: I think I caught another mistake. It's possible to obtain as much as 24 EXP from Loox, not 22. I don't blame the doc for not catching this, since to do it you must do a combination of Pick On's and Don't Pick On's. One combo that works is: Pick on x3, Don't Pick On x4, Pick on x3. This means an extra 2 EXP for each of the 21 Ruins encounters, making the hypothetical Max EXP 23542. EDIT 2: I greatly underestimated how hard the game railroads you into a Lesser Dog encounter. The Snowdrake, Ice Cap and Jerry encounter is locked behind the Lesser Dog encounter. It can be avoided by glitching it (getting it right at the room transition) but in a glitchless run there's no way. So the new new Max EXP has been downgraded to 23516.

I hate seeing such good videos from such good channels who just don't have enough subscribers. You deserve so much more recognition for what was quite obviously a passionate idea.
  • Gonna fact check you here. With Loox, Don't Picking on him lowers his EXP yield by 2, as long as it's above 5. Picking on him raises your EXP yield by 5, as long as it's below 20. Meaning that you can Pick (12), Pick (17), Unpick (15), Unpick (13), Unpick (11), Unpick (9), Pick (14), Pick (19), Pick (24).

As another comment said before, it's possible to get 24 EXP from Loox instead of 22 Another thing though is that it's possible to erase Lesser Dog's encounter entirely, since he's always the third Snowdin encounter (unless you fight Glyde). If you exit the room on the same frame that you encounter Lesser Dog, he will never appear again. That means that you're free to farm Glydes FIRST and THEN get a triple encounter with Snowdrake, Jerry, and Ice Cap. Be sure to steal Ice Cap's hat so that it gives 25 EXP instead of 16
