1974. Telling a story how he got married at 38. Fast forward and this guy was still doing it at 2017. What a life this man lived.

Back in the good ol' days when people knew how to laugh at themselves. RIP to these legends. They had so much class.

I’m an Irish descendant and this is a prime instance of Rickles being the funniest human to ever live
  • @Killermon23
I'm 25 and I wish I was alive to see these greats at their best

No script ,just pure genuine humor born from chemistry and whatever was inside their heads at that time ....

There's just nothing like Johnny Carson and these characters anymore! 48 years old and I still remember staying up late to watch Johnny with my mom. Just such good times!
  • Carson paved the way..shame today no one could emulate him and all his guests..we'll never see entertainment like this again.

I enjoy seeing how Johnny Carson, Don Rickles, and Michael Landon were comfortable enough in their own skin to rib each other and laugh at themselves, unlike today, where nearly everyone is getting offended or canceled.
  • A complete shame all these legends are gone. Gone but not forgotten. They will live forever. RIP Fellas, RIP

“We need to laugh at ourselves” God damn I wish more people would watch don rickles cause he was such a great comedian that made millions of people laugh for decades! Nowadays people are so easily offended that’s why the world is in the shape it’s in
  • Don Rickles was a fantastic comedian and actor. He was a wonderful man and did not have a cruel bone in his body. He was one of the first to show it's ok to laugh at yourself .

The genius of Carson was that he let Rickles and Dangerfield go wherever they wanted to go. He didn't interrupt. He didn't try to direct what was going on. He just went along for the ride like the rest of the audience and viewers. And it is irreplaceable.

None of today's late night shows can touch this one.still the king of Late Night 👏👏
  • Michael was very quick witted, he held his own with a couple of comedic geniuses!

Loved Johnny Carson. He never rushed his guest, they all sat there and talked like they were hanging out. These days the talk show host rushes the guest thru a five minute segment and its usually only to promote their nee book or movie.

This is all classic. We will never have pure genius in entertainment like this again.

Don owned the stage for the full 25 minutes as soon as he walked on....legend, and last of the old guard
