We Spoke To The Doctor Who Claims He “Reversed” Hundreds Of Abortions (HBO)

A medical abortion involves taking two pills - mifepristone, a progesterone blocker, followed 24-48 hours later by misoprostol - to end a pregnancy. But a controversial new study suggests this process can be stopped -- or, as the author claims, reversed -- by giving progesterone to women who take the first pill and then change their minds. The pro-life community has warmly embraced this idea. But pro-choice activists say it fosters the false assumption that it’s common for women to regret abortions. VICE News sat down with doctors on both sides of the latest flashpoint in the war over abortion rights.

“Instead of junk science, it should be called new science,” Delgado told VICE News. WATCH More on abortion rights here: bit.ly/2Fyi2lB

I had the opposite problem. My mom got knocked up before she was 18, wanted to have an abortion, but her insane religious right-wing family refused to let her. VICE needs to do a story on the hell we unwanted children who were forced to be born anyway have to face on a daily basis! She smoked like a chimney & lived on Little Debbie & Hostess, then ditched me at her mom's for 3 months when I was a toddler. I only remember being sat in front of the TV 12+ hrs a day, nothing but Jerry Springer, Court TV & Soap Operas, and have despised TV my whole life as a result. Irreparably damaged by being forced into a family that's either ignored my existence or treated me like a parasite. I have every chronic illness in my extended family & then some, 3 terminal illnesses developed since age 27, 8 failed back surgeries, etc. & zero family support. I exist as the emotional & mental punching bag, scapegoat, entertainment provider for a mother that reminds me every day how much she hates me, uses me, and yet refuses to give me the slightest opportunity to have any freedom, happiness, or control over my own life. Being an unwanted, abandoned, and very sick & dying child all alone in the world is just as bad if not worse than choosing to have an abortion or not!!

Don't see the issue. Develop the doctor's drug, put it through lab tests, advanced clinical trials, etc. It'll take many years, but at least then it'll be well-researched and consistently effective. Pro-choice shouldn't have an issue because it gives women even more options and control. Pro-life should be happy as well. Win-Win.

If women choose to have an abortion, then they have the right to change their mind. Isn't that apart of pro choice? Right?
  • @doodelay
Not buying this doctor's claim but if he can reverse it then I don't see why women who regret their decision shouldn't be able to see him.
  • @JMaTiMedia
Women should have the choice to choose either way as long as the treatment is a legitimate one backed by real medical studies not a single study by one doctor.
  • @kyralawson117
I regret my abortion. It has been hard to think about since i did it
  • @RyanLynch1
the hypocrisy of calling yourself "pro-choice" but being against the reversal pills is insane. it shows that you either haven't thought about what you really think or you're just lying and you're actually pro-abortion

It should definitely be available just in case. But I've seen doctors who performed abortions council women before administrating the pill or procedure. They try to make sure you're 100% by asking you several times if you're sure this is what you want to do. If you've already taken that pill hopefully it's what you really want.

"it's not good for the baby", well I suppose this is the goal of an abortion
  • @ninjagurl7892
God bless Dr Delgado 🙏 🙌 ❤️ Thousands of babies are here today after their moms changed their minds because of his work in abortion pill reversal.
  • @dimmondog322
They should have the option. But understand that possible side effects could be disastrous
  • @lisette1976
LOL what is so controversial about making the CHOICE to reverse your abortion? People stay reaching nowadays.
  • @Smokey94462
Abortions should be legal in all countries.
  • “I think we should protect both of you” that’s not always an option bro... if it comes to the woman/girl or the fetus then the woman should be allowed to save herself !
  • @maeforan944
I'm pro choice and If this works I have no problem with it. I dont see why you would be against it?
  • @hansolo762
George Delgado: "Maybe their not much about choice as they say are." Also George Delgado: Doesn't offer abortion option at all. George is an idiot. "Let me put it this way. We as a society should protect both of you and not allow you to end the life of that newborn baby because it's not good for the baby, it's not good for you, and it's not good for society overall." So I guess having more people who aren't ready to raise children but are forced to is a great thing for society!

Tbh I think it’s bullshit. Bruh if you don’t like abortion, don’t get one. Worry about yourself not what someone else wants to do.
