Grateful Dead perform “Truckin’” Live from Cameron Indoor Stadium, Duke University, Durham, NC, on April 12, 1978

Quite possibly the most inspired, and inspiring, version of Truckin' the Grateful Dead ever played, this Duke performance swings from the moment they kick into it. Ending with peak after peak, the video and photographic evidence from the show reveals Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir playing Townshend-like windmills on the song's closing jam. One for the ages.–David Lemieux

  • @paulinnc
This made my day. Tjis show is probably the coolest thing to ever happen on Duke's campus.
  • I have been following along for 5 years now, looking to see what’s new on Thursday and love having this as part of my routine. ✨ It’s comforting that some things stay the same.
  • This was my song after i got back from the stan. What a long strange trips it’s been had never rung more true
  • I love this channel. I really got turned onto Grateful Dead with this channel. I actually started with jam compilations, but hearing these songs is a long strange Trip it's been. Jerry on Guitar I heard it hard at first Until a Sunburst softened I lurk Learn in true as Trip a coffin As work True as over blue you get caught in the stew I run it right back to you so I flew Over Ganja Grew Into this crew I'm into the fluid I just screwed into the ruins I true lift the blue kick in the do it So you could true flip the crew sip On the drip drop nasal nonstop like flavor The Gunshots Did major plots on spots Dots and Locks for four fifth Glocks I'm lightning stop that A Yo! I wish you'd take a Trip bro With some Ganja flow I tip toe through the Trips grown on As flow with the song You could roll on I sold a bong to prolong All the cost like Gold a wrong in this I strolled past the War and tore in two The light in this true As a blacken unto the new to this? You get it twisted I back and blacken All with a sack and I turn facts into tracks
  • Isnt this the show they had to sneak the equipment and band in a truck onto the campus? Was it the pickup truck going on sale?
