What is is Juraj Slafkovský's upside? And has your team ever had a prospect who took a little longer to develop, but became a star player?

Slavs famous last words after the draft when everybody wanted Shayne Wright * I Hope One Day Montreal Fans Will Love ME As I LOve Them*, we love you SLAV!!!
  • @PierLuc111
I love how he scored his first career hat trick yesterday. Enpowers this video even more.

Passing on Wright was already a win for the habs in my eyes. Seeing Slaf play with so much confidence in the second half of this season makes his ceiling much higher than I first thought. If he could get his skating to the next level, watch out

Lets not forget Leon Draisaitl got sent back to the WHL his first year after only getting 9 points in 37 games. Then got sent back to the AHL for 6 games in his sophomore season.
  • Montreal didnt need another smaller centre. They needed a skilled big man
  • Slaf's big pluses are his puck possession/board battles, and his maturity. Guy is looking amazing....you also forgot to mention that Slaf has played the 2nd half on the first line against the best lines in the NHL holding his own
  • @WhiteSekii
Slaf is making us forget that Caufield is on their line

I've watched 100s of hours of this kid. I've been very much loving it. His growth is unmatched. He went from in this season pacing for 27 points in 82 to pacing for 66 in 82. Even if you don't look at his great level of growth physically and defensively. You still see that he's over doubled his offense. One season he had that much growth. Not to mention he's not afraid to get into the gritty area of Hockey. If the Habs have a scrum he's almost always there. Not to mention his backchecking is elite. To have that complete of a game and that level of offense to me screams Matty Tkachuk. When you look at the other 2 options for Montreal in Wright who probably will be like a Danault and Cooley who will be like a Forsberg. I think Montreal for sure chose right here

When slaf ended his Rookie season I was like everyone else wondering if he was the right pick and at the start of the season I even gave up on him a little bit but now oh boy was I wrong. I could see slaf as being a 75+ point power forward who has excellent goal scoring abilities. We love your massive unicorn here in Montreal
  • Seeing slaf play every night, and man this kid is going to be something special! He’s just learning how to use his size to his advantage! But his hockey iq is what really struck me this year, passes in tight areas and his ability to see plays develop is impressive! Mtl has a bright future

I come from a highlight video of Slav's last year. He does it all. Redirects the puck, one timers, scores from in front of the net, passing, speed, defensive play.

Slaf is such an amazing guy/player love having him on the habs
  • @Bcomplex
Slaf’s unmentioned value is in his quotability. Hockey is a sport but it’s also a commercial entertainment machine, and slaf is ultimate entertainer. Even if he might not have countless 100+ point seasons, he will be a leader for generations - and with cole and suzuki they are building legend that will last for ages

Yeah man! Love Slaf. Everyone kept piling on the kid. Thankfully some of us were in the mindset of give the kid time. And that paid off big time. I’m so glad they took him over Wright. When he tried to stare down the Habs table… what a punk. Slaf all the way.
  • In another couple years once he develops some more along with the rest of the young team around him, he's gonna a key part in leading them back to the finals and maybe even win it all. He has the grit, the size, the skill, the hockey IQ, the determination and the mental maturity it takes to go on a deep playoff run. The only thing left that he needs is time
  • @jordanm3007
Thanks for taking time to shame the haters
  • @eliaminator2313
I was super high on Slafkovsky and wasn't happy when a rival team drafted him with that frame his ceiling was very high from what I saw that draft year. Wasn't surprised to see him have a slower start because of his frame and weight the bigger players can sometimes take longer like we've seen with Brady, Byfield, etc. Your analysis is bang on and seems like people just assume teams see the big frame and just draft players off of that but the teams see the big potential of that player with that frame especially in the playoffs

You're becoming the ''JxmyHighroller'' for NHL. Love this style of video. Continue your great work!
