R.C. Sproul: How to Study the Bible

RC's book Knowing Scripture has been tremendously helpful in my study of the Word. It would be a great book for a beginner.

My Motto's: 1. The bible is the only measuring stick we are to measure our self by 2. Read until He speaks 3. Use scripture to interpret scripture - no scripture is of private interpretation 4. If I don't understand something, I pray for understanding (understanding will come when the time is right) - [It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter.] Proverbs 25v2 5. I’m at my first day of training and I’m almost two hours in Amd class hasn’t started yet. So I told my twin sister in text while rejoicing with my Saintly Sisters in our morning coffee and group chat…getting paid to listen to RC Sproul. She said…and I quote: “Lol That’s amazing that they operate the way they do. Glad you get to listen to the Sproul! Who at this very moment is worshipping around the throne with the holy angles crying Holy Holy Holy is the Lord almighty!🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾” I felt that. I rejoice for that moment as well. Holy Holy Holy is tue Lord God Almighty!. Hallelujah!!!

RC Sproul is a great teacher, from what I’ve heard so far. I do NOT agree with everything he teaches, but that’s with any Pastor/Theologian you come across. This is why we have to read the Bible study, study, study, and I’m talking to myself as well. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you with interpreting the scriptures, and He will.🕊 Oh, and don’t forget to pray. 🙏🏾

I was recently informed that our Lord took RC home in 2017–Praise God we have been left with many sermons!!!!!

He is one of the best teachers. He understands what he is teaching making it easy to understand. He makes me think critically.

So excited to watch your video here on knowing the scripture. Friends, his book with the same title, "Knowing the Scripture" is all that you need to completely change your life to the glory of God by systematically studying the Word of God.

I listen to RC and I can't help the smile on my face...one of God's best preachers...

So grateful for R.C.Sprouls teaching....I prayed for knowledge and wisdom,and the Lord answered. Thankfully the Lord placed some awesome teachers in my life...

A stranger once gave me a list, it was titled milk to meat. This list had every book of the bible in order from the shortest book 2 John, and ending with the longest book psalms. I have been sticking to 4 chapters a day and the bible is read in a year. Im starting Ecclesiastes tonight book number 34 of 66 and I started about December.

I can never get enough of his teachings - what a mighty instrument he was, always making sure that God Got all the glory!

Thank you RC. This is exactly how I read it. I recently told my girlfriend to read it this way, and not like some supernatural, purely just spiritual way. Read it like a history book and feel the characters and try to think in terms of their point of view and such. So many people read it as if they were reading the Lord of the Rings or some type of spiritual lucky coin toss way.

He is greatly missed but how we value his legacy: his love of scripture and clear, God honouring exegesis. We are so blessed by his sound teaching.

Clarity is from the Lord. The spiritual abuse I’ve suffered have led me to this conclusion: Confusion is evil obfuscating the truth. Lord please help me to follow the truth from Your Word. ❤

The greatest theologian in my lifetime!!

Have missed this great man a great deal already. Thankfully we have his passionate sermons to learn from and debate. Mixed with a great sense of humor, and love for others. But his greatest love was always for Christ and the extraordinary beauty of His life on earth, His message, and His greatest gift of all to everyone who trusts Him and worships Him.

How he annunciates his words is so strong and filled with conviction. With just a little bit of spit for emphasis, I love it! Can listen to him all day.
