I suppose it might work to some extent but officially you need the M5120 rather than the M5100 shown here. (the min and max high gear is 51t). The M5100 B gap is too big by about a minimum of 10mm or more and that can lead to shifting issues.

There are some other adjustments you skipped on getting the rear derailleur set correctly on depth and indexing.

Have you done a fork rebuild? It would be interesting to see that in a video. Also on a side note it looks like you live in the same general Ukrainian/Polish geographic region that my ancestors lived in. It would be awesome to see more of the trails and landscape. I am curious to learn more about it.

Did you experience any problems with this setup? I had same configuration like this, but rear derailleur didn’t work very well, skipping or stuck the chain from time to time, so I ended up replace the derailleur with M5120.

Have you bought the derailler online from sellers on ali express or some sort? Or have you bought it directly from a shop? Im trying to compare with one that i have here to see if i possibly have a counterfeit

Just done this exact set up with a deore 11-51cassette on an old scott need to change to a 11-42 as derail wouldnt go under cassette.:(

В мене виникло питання, чи обов'язково змащували барабан задньої втулки, перед установкою касети? На мою думку це буде збирати бруд. Я в загалі прихильник того що будь якої змазки на відкритих частинах механізмів трансмісії та і велосипеда в цілому бути не повинно.

With Shimano CUES coming out it is the last chance to get this excellent value groupset . I would rather change between thirty and thirty two on the cranks than change the rear cassette .
