Just a quick take it off and put it back on. As easy at it sounds, there are a few things you should be aware of. Take a note that I secured the auxiliary countershafts in the case before I lifted it out.

The main reason you want to strap the countershafts is so they don't come out of timing. When I know I'm rebuilding the auxiliary section a lot of times I don't even strap the countershafts and just leave the covers on. Now one tip for the pins is wire brush clean them before you go to put the auxiliary section back in that way they're smooth. If it's a modern rtlo##918 speed or a rtlo##913 speed there's 2 things you're aligning when you're putting it in and that's the countershafts into the auxiliary drive gear and the other thing you're trying to align is the splitter shift collar into the main shaft splines. But looks like you pulled a dinosaur transmission that's becoming obsolete nowadays. Another fun tip depending on the transmission if it's like a 98LL 99LL 915 or even a fro##210 you can assemble the auxiliary section inside the transmission while it's standing like that and put the auxiliary section cover on afterwards. Either way good video

Awesome video thanks mike I have a 13speed Eaton when u go into high range truck will not move Like torque is not being transferred through. But truck moves in low gears. Could the slide collar be getting stuck half way?
  • I have a 13 speed when I push the red splitter farward it down shift instead of up shift and my engine light comes on when I pulpit back it up shift what could be the problem
