The 3 most important rules: - Keep it away from bright light - Don't get it wet - Never feed it after midnight
  • "They're low shedders" looks at my fur covered couch Yep, they are.

"They'll see a pitbull on the trail, and the pitbull would treat it like a salty snack." bitch my chihuahua scares the living hell out of every big dog that annoys her

They definitely have big dog personalities. When mine was dreaming I’m sure he was thinking of taking down caribou.

"...also suffer from a lack of self knowledge." Truer words have never been spoken. They may be the smallest breed, but by god, don't tell them that.
  • "Salty snack"' huh? My Chihuahua was known as "The Meanest Dog In The Hood". I didn't find out till he died and a neighbor told me. He chased husky, great Danes, pit bulls, and dobermans away if he got the chance. He even chased a person trespassing on my property all the way to the park behind my house! The only time he got spooked was when he tried to pick a fight with an old gentle mastiff. Who wagged his tail and gave him one big lick from his tail to his nose. I never laughed so hard as my dog put those huge ears back in fear and ran to the house! He turned when he reached the door and barked at me as if to say ," Come on bitch! I ain't fighting that thing!"

  • I don't actually like dogs that much, but when my parents brought home a Chihuahua I liked her a lot. Because she was the most gorgeous thing I had ever seen on four legs. She was with us for eleven and a half years. Rest in peace ZeeZee.

I used to not like Chihuahuas because they'd bark at everything and aggressive towards everyone. well I've had a long haired chihuahua for six months now and absolutely adore her. she doesn't like the cold so At night she cuddles with me and my boyfriend under the blankets. and what they said about Chihuahuas acting tough is very true! we live in an area where almost every owner has a dog so she barks at them all the time and they are 100x bigger than her. I would recommend everyone to get a Chihuahua. they will have endless love for you! also they are not good for small kids as the video said. my little brother always grabs her in the wrong spots so she growls as a warning then snaps. and my Chihuahua gets along well with my apricot poodle.

Nobody believed me when I said I would destory the city with my army of chihuahuas. Now that city is in ashes.

My chihuahua is literally the best thing to ever happen to me ever. Shes a rescue from a shelter I worked at. She loves everyone she meets and showers the in kisses (sometimes too many kisses😂) she’s my very best friend
  • @mirandalaswell
I always refer to this breed as the new Pit Bull because it has such a negative reputation. But anyone who has ever owned or known a chihuahua knows how loving and smart they are. They are such great dogs, especially if you need a therapy animal or something for companionship.

Chihuahuas are fucking amazing. Mine lived to be 19 but we had to put her down cuz she developed cataracts. Every time I and only I would call her name she would just go insane and wag her tail. I love these little dogs they are so love able

“Some say the Mexicans used the chihuahua as a WATER BOTTLE” 😂 I can’t get that image out of my head

Tips for prospective chi owners: 1. Don't ignore their boundaries just because they're tiny and cute. Do learn dog body language (I know my chi's body language so well and can read him so effortlessly that whenever he feels unsafe, he always comes to me, not any other member of my household). Don't let children bother them incessantly (if your chi doesn't like children, respect that). Don't antagonise them on purpose. People do all this because chis are small dogs so they can't do real harm. But it leads to a dog that feels unsafe and is hostile. 2. Socialise and train them. 3. They need exercise and play time. They're very intelligent so make sure you do things that exercise their brain.

Up until 5 years ago I have always had large breed dogs mostly the hunting breeds. Co worker who had never had a dog before went to a pet store ( error 1) and adopted a chihuahua (error 2). She had it for 4 months maybe and said she couldn’t stand him being near her all the time. She was going to bring him to a local shelter. I said no I will take him and find him a home. Brought him home and 24 hours later hubby and I said “we have to keep him”. Out of our 3 dogs he is the best dog ever. He’s loyal, loving, barely barks, cuddles, and is just a low key mellow dog. His only problem is that he cannot stand anyone other than the hubby and I. But we’re ok with that. Best decision ever!!!
