Making money is not my primary objective. After expenses are taken into consideration, remaining revenue is invested back into BEAUTY IN SOUND. Audio and visual equipment is expensive, and I also pay a fair fee to all recitalists who appear on BIS. This is why I regularly ask YOU to help, and I’m sorry for having to do so. I hope that you can all see the tangible improvements being made to BIS along our shared journey.

  • All that glorious orchestral tone in just a little over 3600 pipes. Proof you don’t need 10,000 pipes to make a statement! I absolutely love this particular Father Willis instrument. I doubt I’ll ever get to hear it in person as I’m located across the pond but it’s wonderful so many recordings have been made on this special instrument. Salutations from Illinois USA. 😉❤️🎶

What a fantastic instrument! Thank you Jeffrey for this introduction and looking forward to the recital. Thank you Richard for the amazing audio and video production and making this possible!
  • @Cookster997
Whoever took the care to make sure every stop and combination was shown onscreen accurately for the entire video is a SAINT! ♥ Beautiful instrument, amazing playing, heavenly architecture and acoustics.

Love that little bit of Durufle you play at the beginning. Takes me back to sitting in the choir writing up my uni notes listening to you practice the durufle requiem. Totally amazing being able to hear the Sanctus without any voices, sooooo many notes!!!!!
  • @EElgar1857
One of the greatest cathedrals, with an organ to match it! And a great demonstration. 😁
  • @Dogsnark
Wonderful! I can only imagine how this must sound in this magnificent cathedral.
  • I love the fact that you always kept quiet at some moments so that we listen to the ecoustic echoes of the cathedral
  • Gorgeous voices. Reverb throughout the catherdral is perfect (to my ear). Another beautiful organ warranting preservation for all time. Thanks for sharing this.
  • @ar4498
I've played this organ, What a monster, The whole balcony shook under the power of that 32' Reed.
  • Thank you. I am increasingly a fan of Father Willis. Just love the Hereford sample set.
  • @roberrrisk177
Wonderful instrument, what beautiful sounds in the midst of super acoustics.
  • @mattleach958
Ooo. Aaa. I am SO looking forward to this. Thank you Richard and Jeffrey. :_bisLovebis:
  • When hearing a magnificent example of a Father Willis organ, my mind's eye paints a most glorious picture of an English Cathedral situated in somewhere in the countryside e.g. Durham Cathedral as seen from the riverside of the River Wear. Just so much drama and breath-taking beauty. Thanx a trillion to Richard McVeigh and Jeffrey Makinson for making it happen.
  • @mackie32x48
Nice touch putting the ranks on the side and going through them so we can see exactly whats playing.
  • Wow! I’ve always enjoyed hearing Father Willis Organs. I’m glad I got to here this organ get demonstrated. Well voiced foundations of all different varieties, a lot of clear, well-voiced upper work and mutations, and a great variety of colorful solo reeds and fiery chorus reeds too.
  • Wow that amazing Really enjoyed that Richard! My Speakers enjoyed the rumbling bass on this organ! :-)
  • @chrisholley2954
Those 3 open diapasions in unison are divine ! Fills the room glorious
  • @johnferguson4089
WOW! What an awesome instrument. Father Willis knew just what was required to make this glorious sound without over-doing the number of ranks but what a statement this instrument makes. It's probably unlikely that I'll get to hear it live but this video demonstrates the near-perfect acoustics of the cathedral.
  • Thank you Richard, it was wonderful to see and hear Lincoln cathedral and the Father Willis. Thanks to Jeffrey too for his playing.
