The only thing keeping Tom Hanks character in Castaway from ending his life on the deserted island was the hope of that woman he loved waiting for him on the other side. He went through all those trials and tribulations trying to get off the island so he could return back to her. Love kept him alive. But years had passed before he finally escaped the island only to be crushed by the fact she was no longer waiting for him. That must've been worse than being stranded on the island because at least, on the island, he still had hope. How cruel? Yes, that was Spirit putting on a big rubber glove and instructing him to bend over. Take one for the team, buddy. And if that wasn't enough, he was expected to be grateful for the fact Spirit allowed him to escape the island. But, no, that isn't the case because he's STILL trapped on the island. Only difference is this time the island is inside himself.

This is what I’ve been living for 4months. I was in a situationship with a younger guy last fall, turned him down bc of age difference, then he said he was going to start dating, & became cold & aloof. He did start dating & now he’s with a narcissist (not his first rodeo with that type). I’ve been sick about losing him ever since. I did tell him I missed him, etc, but he was already smitten. I’m a libra but my north node is cancer. I just lost my mother. Before she passed I was taking care of her and taking her to all of her Dr appointments. She passed suddenly and I keep wondering if I could have done more.
