Agree 100% with bringing back hard shoulders. Smart motorways were a stupid idea (for cost cutting), that should NEVER have been implemented!!

Having stretches of motorway with no hard shoulder and a barrier right upto the lane 1 edge is so bloody dangerous for people with flat tyres and breakdowns

It's not about safety, it's about making money. Agree over head gantry signs should be used to remind drivers about courteous driving.
