  • Thank You for the info in a low voice & not moving all over the place making people dizzy very informational, great pointers.
  • Nice work man, not much information out there but this was super helpful. Keep up the good work!

Your batch of 10 I got are still doing great, you were right that more water changes bring out the colors in males
  • Never end saying your video is too long, because it's very interesting. The thing with brine shrimp causing more defects is new to me, but I will surely take notice of it. My rainbowshiners started breeding already in rather cold months 20 degrees in the living room (room temperature), I guess sunlight is triggering them as well.

Your very good, thx for all the details! 😊

One day I will have a built pond with rainbow shiners. I’d live to see them schooling around.

That was a great video and your set up is impressive. I’ve been looking into these shiners for a while now and even have a tank seasoning up and plants growing out for when I get them. It’s a 55G I was thinking 8 fish from 2 different suppliers (total 16 fish) To get started and do some breeding of them. Nothing like your operation but maybe get a grow out tank of them going.

Great! I have 3, 2 female and 1 male. I’ll give this a go and hopefully increase my stock.

Why do the young Shiners spawn on the introduced pebbles on the trap and not the large rocks decorating their aquarium? Also, do you have a video about any tricks for White Cloud breeding? My long fins haven’t done well with that.
  • Thank you for this video Blong! My one question is what temps are you spawning the rainbow shiners at?
  • Very cool, thanks for the info. Do you only breed them once a year in Spring or more than that?
  • @Kashew15
Hey I was wondering what color will the eggs be when they are fertilized? Thanks and Happy New Year!!!
