Me and the other 5 Iron Hand players absolutely balling
-
As an iron hands player who runs 7 Dreadnaughts in a 2k list. I like this. But I was hoping they would bring back the character Dreadnaught stratagem in some way.
-
Space wolf Bjorn dreadnought list with this sounds really fun. I hope the techmarine only enchantments are templated in such a way that they can be used in iron priests
-
Oh wow this is JUST what I needed. I love how the mechs look in yellow so have been strongly considering foregoing the Imperial Fist gun line for a more mechanized army.
-
For the past year, my Iron Hands list has grown and took an interesting shape. Multiple Dreadnoughts of every variant, tanks of Primaris and Firstborn Origin, and infantry led by Father Feirros. This is gonna be fun…..
-
The Flesh is Weak! Go Iron Hands! Really happy to see a lot of useful stuff here. I feel like this gives IH back a bit of thier identity after being completely stripped of it when 10th launched. They have added so much for the Techmarines and makes them so much more a part of the fight instead of just being there for the repairs. Let's go!
-
Looks really interesting for a Space Wolf Dreadnought list. Hard to choose between Marneus and Bjorn though. I do like the Gladius fall back shoot and charge, with a dreadnought using tank shock... 😊
-
Damn, that detachment re-roll for hits, wounds or damage is great for hunter killer missiles.
Cue Oprah meme "you get a hunter killer missile, you get a hunter killer missile, you all get a hunter killer missile" -
The Flesh is Weak enhancement seems like a perfect fit for Gravis Captain (assuming they retain the halved damaged ability). On average, it would take 3 max damage Lascannons to kill him (7 damage per shot, halved then rounded to 4 damage, then 4+++ takes it to two damage). This isn't even factoring in the 4+ invuln! Not 100% sure how useful it would be in play, but I'm going to work out how he'd fair against some heavy hitters.
Edit: He might survive charging Angron with either profile, and surviving a charge isn't out of the question.
Strike Profile: 8 attacks, assume Angron hits all of them on 2+ with the rerolls from his Righteous Aura. wounds on 2s, so on average would likely drop a dice, but let's say he gets all 8 wounds through a bit of luck or command reroll. The attacks are 2+D6, so 5.5 on average.
On average, the captain saves 4 of these with his invuln, leaving 4 attacks going through for a total of 22 damage. It's halved by his ability to 11 damage, and his 4+FNP makes it 5.5 wounds. He has 6 wounds. Of course this is all averages and there's a lot of dice being rolled here (Angron Damage, 50/50 saves, FNPs), but it's not out of the question for him to live.
As for sweep though, it's a lot better for him... him being the captain of course.
18 attacks, assume they all hit and wound, though on average 3 would fail to wound. Half get saved on the invuln, down to 9 attacks. Damage of 2 is halved to 1, so 4.5 wounds after an average 4+++ FNP.
I wouldn't take any of this that seriously at the moment though. The Captain's ability may change, a couple of bad rolls can kill him, and he might not be threatening enough to warrant the Angron player challenging him. The biggest issue for this working out in practice is that 40k rounds up IE a roll of 3 on the strike profile causes 3 damage after halving (5/2, rounded up to 3). In that sense, the odds are slightly weighted against him.
All I know is that the thought of a 415 point Daemon Primarch potentially failing to kill a lil' chunky space boi is funny to me. -
Always love your videos and looking forward to watching this one as well. Iron Hands are pretty cool so I can’t wait to see what this Ironstorm formation does for them.
-
Auspex video right when I wake Up? Couldn't be better!
-
That last Enhancement seems pretty strong on a Ravenwing Talonmaster in a Dark Angels army. It affects himself, and he can easily keep up with any other vehicles he's buffing.
-
Prices on these new models feels even more insane than before. 60 bucks for 5 jump intercessors, more than 10 bucks per model. These were forgeword prices when I started the hobby!
-
Now I would like something like this but for admech in the next codex. A vehicle focus detachment
-
Super excited for this detachment
-
You could always put Master of Machine War on a Jump Captain or Bike Chaplain who would be able to keep up and would want to be getting stuck in anyways.
-
This is a really cool detachment. I can see this being good for Silver Skulls or just any chapter where the Forge is taking charge of the battle.
-
I run an IH successor, glad to see their rules be solid.
-
Iron Hands and Imperial Fists have always seemed to share the attributes of heavy support vehicle combat and resistance to pain, so these attributes not being locked to one or the other seems like a nice step.
