It’s not about a free lunch - after a certain level of debt the system was set up so the loans couldn’t be paid off. Many people who took undergrad and grad loans because they had no support from parents ended up with a monthly payment of $1-2,500 if not more. I paid the amount I borrowed but the interest was a killer. The entire system was predatory and nobody at that young age should be taking that much debt. I could write a book about my experience with student loans. Graduate students have a harder time with the loans as they are very unfavorable for grad students. I would never recommend a young person to take more than 10k for studies. Never unless they were going to be a doctor.

So what is happening for current students going into this fall semester with a student loan?

I spent 6k for CDL school.

Zero authority to do this as usual

This is great but for the rest of students can't afford the rising interest rates do something about fixing the interest rate so everyone can have equal access to education- everyone- this is not the lottery. Everyone deserves an education if they so chose.

They bailed out the banks in 2008 ! Might as well help the common people.
