"My approach, is it more careful? mmm...I don't think so..." - proceeds to drop in and get slammed on a MONSTER WAVE! Lovit! Mad respect gents! Mad respect!
  • Huge respect to Twiggy, truly a world class big wave rider. Nice of him to acknowledge Pierre, who was, and always will be, the consummate water-man of the Cape.

Respect for you African surfers. Going for the size is a challenge by itself, of course. But you guys seem to have the sharkiest waters, Great Whites! And the paddle out here looks heavy duty. Your reputation precedes you, Twigg. Thanks to you and your homies for this amazing video.

Grew up in hout bay in the 70s and nobody had considered surfing it then but almost got capsized with my adventurous father on his 18foot motorboat that got caught on a big swell there. Scary moment and lucky to be here to tell the tale

Twig's respect for the place is palpable and speaks a volume, because when he says it's heavy there can be no doubt.

Unreal. Twiggy’s name should always be right up there with the best big wave riders to have ever graced our sport. Seeing him here or live at Mav’s or OB is incredible. Keep on keeping on!

56 here, just ordered a 10'0" Chumbo Flat deck. Be my last shot at a gun for sure. The bodies pretty much shot but the mind is still willing! Always had admiration when looking at Twiggy taking on the beasts! Respect to all you bru!

Respect to Grant Baker. Watched him charge big Maverick's several times. If there's any fear in him he conceals it well. Without question one of the greatest helmen of all time, and still charging at 50! Well done, Grant. Great narration and beautiful footage!
  • @darcybrown7369
